We’re going in mid October and already had our MNSSHP cancelled. Just wondering if anyone knows if the parks will still be decorated for Halloween? This is our first trip during the Halloween holiday so really hoping they are feeling festive!!

I would be shocked if they didn’t decorate for Halloween this year. I could possibly see the decorations not being as grand as usual, but I hope not.

It would go a long way especially since so much else is still closed. We're going in October also and even though we lost MNSSHP, just the decorations would be great to raise everyone's spirit!

Just today Disney gave us a sneak peak at some of their new holiday merchandise.

I would be beyond SHOCKED if they didn't put up decorations this year. I can see there being no NEW decorations and maybe not as extensive as years in the past but I def think we will see decorations.

I agree that I think Disney will put out the Halloween/Autumn decorations - just wondering if they'd put them out mid-August like they have been doing - lol! I can't see a reason for them not to decorate and to have special merchandise for seasons. I'm thinking maybe some of the themed character floats could go out too which would be cool. We've cancelled our trip for this year but I still enjoying watching some live streams and hoping to see decorations, music, etc.

The issue with decorations Halloween and Christmas, is none of the parks are currently open after dark. So a lot of the decorations will be irrelevant if you can't see the lights. Makes me sad.

I disagree, the decorations in the day time are beautiful and great for pictures
Exactly. The only one I could see being an issue are the icicle lights on the castle for Christmas, but by that time it’ll be dark prior to the park close hours that are currently on hand and Disney could always extend the hours by then as well.

I also agree that the decorations are festive during the day too. I think that they need the holiday decorations as a draw since there's limited entertainment, and to sell all that holiday merch! The consensus has been that they will be putting up the decorations, but sometime in September. The only reason they started putting them up in August was because of the early Halloween party dates. My guess is after Labor Day, but that's pure speculation on my part!

Me too! I've been trying to figure out how to make one for home.

They're actually quite easy, just a bit time consuming.....if you buy the fake pumpkins at like Michael's (use a coupon)....and a small dremel set, you can get the pattern from the web. Trace the pattern using the poker around the outline....and then cut it out.....when you're finished, measure a hole on the bottom for a light (I get the battery operated lights that are like under cabinet lights from Walgreen's....use it to measure the hole....then cut it.....take it outside and clean out the inside with air and a moist towel to get the particles left inside, out of the pumpkin. Then insert the light into the hole at the bottom and turn it on.

Alternatively, if you want string lights in there, then cut a SMALL (no larger than 1" hole in the back (off center so it's not clearly visible, and feed the string in...the hole allows the plug to remain outside so you can plug it in.

We make a different pumpkin every year with this method. We have lots of villains (my fave)....but you can do any of them that you can find a pattern for.

Hope that helps!!
