My Disney Experience, is there a sticky somewhere with a MDE for dummies?

The last time I went to Disney there was no such thing as MDE, and my kids were... Kids. I created an account on Disney's website for MDE and made up a profile for my husband and two grown kids and I sent them invites hoping they get links to create their own accounts but who knows. Can they make their own plans? Can they remove themselves from mine if they want? Can they add their own funding info? Can they use mine if getting food (I want them to but both kids want to pay for own souvenirs at least)? I can't tell from Disney's website what they can and can't do. Is there a primer here for this? Thanks so much for any advice!

Not an expert so posters can correct me if anything is not accurate.....In order to share plans you have to invite them by email link to your friends and family and they have to accept. I would make sure that each of them has their own MDE account.

Yes, they can make their own plans. There is also a feature to 'share all plans' which means they can see your plans even if they are not included. I didn't know this and one time a friend kept knowing my Disney plans and I didn't realize why. I probably could have adjusted what they could see but I took the easy way out and just deleted them from my friends and family list.

They can add a credit card to their profile to be used for their purchases. If you want to pay for their food, I think you would have to put in the mobile order on your own phone.

Definitely read the FAQs page. I thought this question was helpful in regards to plan sharing:
.

How is my information shared with the people on My Family & Friends list on disneyworld.com or the My Disney Experience app?

Yep it was helpful but didnt spell out how much or how little access they would have. I was thinking if I was off with my son and my daughter wanted lunch it would be good to have her order using my card info. I can probably see the next time one of my kids is around if they can just log into my profile at the same time I am. I have yet for them to say no to a venmo so they could prob pay and i can reimburse too. I am probably making this too difficult!

Yes, you can give them your log in info and they can log in at the same time. When you 'share plans' they can see what you are doing but it doesn't share your payment info. They would have to log into your account to use that.
