Disneyland Reopening Speculation Superthread

For all those getting the discount, will this be advertised on the website soon? I booked through Get Away Today and they told me they’ll price match any discounts Disney does so she told me to just call back in a few days because they weren’t aware of it yet. We’re staying at the GCH so that’d be huge!
Someone posted earlier in the thread that the offer is supposed to be published on Monday. So hang in there!

For those who received the new PPH and GCH discount thanks to very helpful CMs, please send in a CM Compliment! (Use the Contact Us link on the DLR website. Even if you don't remember the CM's name, just put in as much other detail as you can, e.g. date, time, reservation number, general transaction description, how the CM went above and beyond to help you, etc.) This has not been an easy time for the phone line CMs, and those compliments can help them get the recognition they deserve. :)

Oof after reading about Florida’s new YOLO approach to covid this morning and how risky it is, I’m less inclined to want to head to WDW now. I suppose if you stay in the bubble (which we intended to do) but still... According to bloggers, they've been adding more pass reservations to the calendars for the upcoming weeks but I don’t see that as a sign they’re going full YOLO with Florida as some are saying. I imagine they’ll keep the safety policies in place... but still.

That puts all my eggs back in the Disneyland basket of uncertainty. Come on Newsom, let us have some happiness! I don’t plan on going anywhere else in CA when we come. Straight to Disney and back and intend on being fully respectful of the community by wearing my mask at all times, etc. And I’m sure I’m not alone in that when it comes to folks traveling from out of state.

I’m hoping this discount is a good sign they’re feeling hopeful to get things open soon. 🤞🤞🤞

Same! Ugh! I was always going to stay within the WDW bubble if I did go...but now If I do I am for sure staying in the bubble.

What worries me most is the airport. If all restaurants open up that includes those in the airport and will they keep a mask mandate then since it’s up to the business? Scurry your booty off that plane into Disney’s waiting arms as fast as you can. lol!

But another thing to keep in mind is that you might be in the bubble with plenty of locals- cast members or visitors now living with no precautions. Yikes!

I’m sure WDW aren’t happy about this- lots of folks will hesitate to go now. See Newsom? A lot of us Disney fans are responsible rule abiders! Is it time to send him a link to this thread? 😂

Wow. Was thinking of WDW again but Gov Desantis just announced no restrictions statewide and no fines or penalties. I wonder what the theme parks are going to do as next move

If we could only take away the extremes of these two Gov and meld together the better parts of them....maybe a little pixie dust for both of them may to the trick.

Right? Middle ground people can we have a middle ground?!

I'm feeling for those CMs though- lots of the comments I've seen (not necessarily just on Disney focused pages) are all like 'Great, now we don't have to wear masks to WDW!' I'm sure this will create a lot of misinterpretations and create pushback for the poor CMS enforcing masks. I doubt Disney will relax their health/safety protocols- especially when you consider the terms with unions.

My mom keeps telling me to try to stop thinking about our trip but it's hard- anyone else like hyper focused on it right now? Maybe because we've been taunted so much this week....

Well, there went my Universal Studios backup plan. All that leaves me with is Hershey Park.

Pennsylvania is good, right? Right?! 😭

That's a real bummer about Florida. I definitely feel bad for Disney trying to enforce regulations. Does this mean that visitors who choose not to wear masks are now not legally obligated to comply with Disney mask rules? It's private property, but what about law enforcement assisting with the removal of guests. Sounds like a huge mess.

It sounds like businesses aren’t impacted. They can choose to require masks or increase their capacities. Disney is private property so I assume they will probably keep their mask rules in place. But not sure if this would cause anti-mask people to try and come to the parks and “test” the rules out..

Yup. I had been wanting to go to WDW this fall to satisfy my Disney craving. Looked up airfare and everything. But the second I heard about the news from DeSantis that desire dried up! I have a trip planned in late March which I’m more comfortable with, but no to Florida this fall.

(With the news Aulani is reopening, who knows, maybe I’ll just end up going there. Or just save my money to do a staycation at GCH to guarantee park reservations, lol!)

Orange County (Florida) still has a mask mandate, but unfortunately this announcement means it has no teeth-can’t impose any fines. But private businesses can always enforce masks. Disney and universal will. But other parks are already pretty lax. Legoland doesn’t even require them! But it will just make it even harder for the places that do enforce them!

I have a question, hopefully it's not dumb lol

Who is Abby? Is she a regular on the DIS? I keep reading about her here and wondered how so many were friends or knew of her. I've heard of Maynard before on here and actually met him at rope drop (actually more like saw him, I didn't interact...had my competitive eye on the prize of Indiana Jones haha!) one time, but haven't heard of an Abby prior to this thread.

Haha I was thinking the same thing today! I’ll be working from home for foreverrrrr it seems like so I keep telling myself if we miss Christmas we’ll just go whenever they open. It’ll be fine. For once I’m not tied to my work schedule. But ooooo Aulani sounds so nice. I’ve always wanted to go there.

Disney publicly stated they are not changing anything at this time and that masks are still required.

MCO? That should have always worried you then. Reports were they didn’t enforce mask wearing in the airport anyway.

They were never legally obligated to wear a mask. Visitors to Disney property who don’t run risk of being kicked out by Disney- not sued or thrown in jail- just kicked off the property. Disney can trespass you at their choice.

I’m from Maryland and went to Hershey Park the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. It was a freaking disaster. Wall to wall people. Mask compliance horrible. 2 hour waits were standard. Disney in August was a dream, that was a nightmare. Trying out Busch Gardens Williamsburg today. Fingers crossed that will be better!
