Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Shopping and Merchandise: Savi’s, Droid Depot and More!

Looking for advice from those that have done the Savi's lightsaber experience. DH and I are thinking about building two each, but not sure if they are worth it. We have many different lightsabers of our own made custom for our 501st characters and fencing blade versions. I know several 501st members have told us the experience is unreal and a must do for SW fans.

I would love to hear anyone's thoughts on what you have built, how you liked it.

Thanks in advance for your tips and stories.

I just built a lightsaber today and it is a really neat experience. I like my lightsaber hilt, and plan to wear it a bunch after I get back home.
I don't know about your other sabers, but I'm not sure I could suggest making two each. Some of the sabers I've seen on the internet look pretty nice, and sturdy enough to play with. The blade on mine seems a little delicate and I don't want to risk breaking it. Maybe make reservations a few days apart so you can decide if you want to buy another so soon or just enjoy the first one.
To me, it is worth it to buy a lightsaber and experience the build.

What you suggest is actually a good plan, but we are only going to be there for Saturday and Sunday only... HOWEVER we thought about what you said and are planning another trip June 2021, so we are now leaning towards building one each, and if we like them and how the last we will build another in June.... Thank you very much for the advice, it helped calm our hyper heads... we have been staying away from SW:GE threads and websites because we didn't want to spoil the adventure for ourselves... then we (I) panicked cause we are such planners and have not done as much as we normally would! (If you are wondering yes we do have two sets of reservations (one for Sat and one for Sun ) so we will be releasing one here as soon as we figure out how the rest of our weekend will go.

I understand not wanting to spoil the experience. I read some information before I went, saw some pictures, but did not watch videos of the ceremony so I could experience that in person. Looking at lightsaber parts ahead of my appointment is one thing, but knowing the whole ceremony is another. It might also be more fun to do the building twice but well separated in time so you won't be remembering it from the day before. Whatever you decide to do, have fun and may the force be with you.

Just got back from Disney Springs and visited the SW store on Marketplace it has every item you can find in Batuu minus the legacy lightsabers, other than that you can basically find everything you find in the Batuu marketplace, Dok Ondar and the First Order store at DS now. Just a heads up if maybe you forget something or can't get into DHS

How crowded was it? Long wait to get in, etc?

For the make own light saber, do you still need to make a reservation like you did before the parks closed? I am taking my son on Mon and he would like to do this since we only did the Droid in March.

Yes you need to make a reservation

We went today (4 pm or so on a Saturday). We waited about 5 minutes to get in. One of the CMs at the SW Galactic Outpost store told us to "shop there and save your time in the park for rides" and I couldn't agree more. The store is small but we probably spent almost an hour in there. An added bonus is DS now has all his "gear" for our Studios day this week and I don't have to lug a bag around the park with me.

Hi there,

I'm new here and I apologize if this has been asked before. I'm looking to make my own droid "backpack" though it'll be designed as a front carry. I'm going to get a BB so I know I'll need a "leash" chain for the head, so I plan to design one into my bag. Does anyone happen to know how long the chain in the DD bag is and how big the lobster clip is at the end of the chain? I don't want to use too big or small of a clip or too short or long of a chain.

TIA.

Black Series REX!!!!! :worship:

ETA: "pre-orders sold out." :headache:
Update: DJ REX came back in stock online at Target and I also found a Hondo at my local store. If you're looking for these, don't pay double on the secondary market. Just be persistent in looking at Target and on their website and you may be able to get them for normal retail price.

I made a reservation for the Droid Depot. When I clicked confirm, it said something went wrong but it actually made the reservation because I can see it in MDE. I never received the confirmation email. Do they require the confirmation email when you arrive or can I just show them my reservation in MDE on my phone?
