Lori Loughlin begins Prison sentence

Regardless of whether she gets early release, today she had a body cavity search, tonight she's sleeping a triple bunk bed with a bunch of strangers, and if she's allowed a shower tomorrow it'll be without real privacy. It's gonna be tough.
This article is over 20 years old, but I don't think it's all that different.

Yeah, I think she thought the laws were for the little people.
Well, she only has a two month sentence, so, yeah.

I guess only if it's a full house -- oops, jail cell.

Interesting article. Sounds like this place may not be as bad as a regular prison, but it's still nowhere any of us would want to go. That picture makes a dorm room look huge, and I forgot about toilets out in plain view. Talk about a loss of dignity.

Oh, that was bad!

I posted this a couple days ago on the College Entrance Cheating Scandal thread:

This was Lori Loughlin's husband, Mossimo Giannulli's normal look pre-trial. Very white collar.

This is Mossimo's new, getting ready for prison in a few days look:

The thing is, he's not going to a maximum security prison with inmates serving 3 life terms for heinous crimes. It will be a low level, still white collar-ish prison. Over-kill much? :rotfl:

Strange that he's going shaved. You can tell by the stubble that he's got a full head of hair and it's not a toupee.

ugh she disgusts me. Her and felicity. White privilege all the way.

Please, this stuff has been going on since higher learning has been introduced. How do you think all of these ivy league schools have all of their nice buildings? Wasting jail space for this is crazy. Violent criminals get less time. The man who hit Rick Moranis has at least 6 other assault charges, 5 of them just this year. Why was he not in jail? I am not saying what these college scam people did was right, but you all are acting as if they murdered someone.

Just saw that she arrived at the Prison today for her 2 month sentence. How much actual time will she serve? Will she be released early? Just curious...
Yep. FCI Dublin. The only minimum security women's federal prison in the west. The surrounding area is actually quite nice. It's next to Camp Parks Reserve Training Base and Santa Rita Jail (Alameda County's main jail) but the area is heavily developed now - mostly subdevelopments. The location in California is probably not much of an advantage for visitation given they don't allow visitors now.

As far as being released early, there is no early release per se for sentences under 1 year. Otherwise the federal system gives "good conduct" credit. Her attorney might have thought of the way Felicity Huffman checked in so that her scheduled completion falls on a weekend, but that might just shave off 2-3 days. Huffman stayed 11 days with a 14 day sentence.

I thought choosing to enter prison on 10/30 for a 2-month sentence was interesting (just thinking of missed holidays) but I'm guessing her attorney was trying to maximize that early release option.

From a CBSLA news report:

"Laughlin is scheduled to be released Sunday, December 27, but a prison policy allows inmates to be released early if their release date falls on a weekend or holiday.

Because Christmas falls on a Friday this year, Loughlin could be released by Christmas Eve."

Minimum security federal prisons and satellite camps are generally filled with nonviolent offenders. Violent criminals generally go to state prisons because most of those crimes are state crimes.

Also - they weren't getting their kids in with the cooperation of the administration. That takes real money and not just a few hundred thousand dollars paid to a coach.

So they did game this. I would think they have access to consultants who know how the system works and what dates would be ideal to shave off time.

Can you read??? Where did I say any of that?? This is why I hate these boards. Everyone twists whatever anyone says. “She disgusts me” is all I said. You think I don’t know there are worst crimes

Yes, TMZ also estimated that Lori Loughlin is set to be released from prison Dec 27. Since that falls on a weekend, (Sunday,) the federal prison system releases prisoners early, on a weekday, so, the Friday before. But, that is Christmas, a federal holiday. So they may release her on Christmas eve. 🎄

TMZ was joking that it's just like a Hallmark movie. :lmao: Or better yet, maybe they do a Christmas play in prison. Lori decides to stay to do it, because she realizes they've become her new family. :rotfl:

I tend to agree. They did fine them, but why not fine them more and make them do more service time? Make them do a longer in house arrest. I felt that way about Martha Stewart too. Why spend our tax dollars incarcerating non-violent criminals who are so rich they could pay huge fines that could be used for good?

Yeah, jail is a waste of time for them. Have them pay a bunch of money that goes to an education fund for those with lower incomes. That way some good comes out of it. I imagine that they could have put quite a few kids through school for the money they could have collected from all of the rich people who were caught up in this. And I would not go so far to say she(and her husband) are "disgusting" people. They did something stupid to try to help their kid. They were wrong, but the strong reactions by some here is nuts.

I respectfully disagree. Allowing a rich person to pay fine and having a poor person serve prison time is unethical.

And she, and many others, are why U$C is refereed to as the University of Spoiled Children. I'm all for the parents doing time, but 2 months is a joke, we really need to bring back "hard time" not some white collar prison. But the kids involved in all this should have been kicked out of the school and sent to at community college where they belong.
