Hey Everyone!

I have a DCL cruise scheduled for the first week of April. At this point my guess is it's 50/50 at best that it sails and I booked Poly as a backup.

What's your opinion on when DCL will sail again?

I was optimistic for the summer but the vaccine roll out is too slow. A friend and I actually figured out, that ignoring a second dosage (which is needed) at the current rate our state is distributing them it will take 20 months to get through our adult population, (not including children who aren’t currently eligible and again, completely ignoring a second dose.) While I think they will ramp it up, it will take time to get to healthy adults. I was thinking I would get mine in June, now I am far less sure.

So I am back to being discouraged.

I had a dream that they returned to sailing in October. So if that ends up coming true I'd be feeling some type of way. 👀

However, sadly I'm thinking 2022. Just trying to be realistic with thinking of how long it could possibly take to get crew back, and do those test sailings. And who knows maybe Disney will let other big cruise lines go out first. Who knows things could get worse before they get better (just saying that anything can happen). If it does return this year, and nothing bad happens to shut them down again, (not saying it would or I think it would, just saying, worse case scenario, anything can happen) I will be happily surprised.

I have a 4 night cruise booked for April. I had been feeling maybe 50/50 on the chances of that happening, however yesterday I started looking for alternative dates that I could change that to. I think reality finally set in.

I also have an NCL Hawaiian cruise booked for July, make up from last July. I'm losing a little more hope on that every day. :(

I don’t think there is much hope between slow rollout and the new variant of the virus making its way around the world that is more contagious and will put pressure on the healthcare system. Basically, the Covid virus will need to get to a place where it is not longer dominating all aspects of our lives. I know some people are living like they don’t care about the pandemic or public health but it is huge issue that will not fade in the next six months

March will be cancelled any day now. April will follow soon after.
If not at the same time. I had a cruise booked for next winter, but now I'm discouraged and want out, so I rescheduled for early April (can't cancel myself without penalty as I'm concierge). Now I'm just waiting for the refund, hoping it doesn't take several months to get it but oh well if it does. Fingers crossed that April cancels along with March, because it's clear as day that DCL won't sail in April.

I chose October - December. I think the major cruise lines will start this summer, and DCL will hold back and watch, and then open up late in the year if nothing with cruising goes terribly awry.

I think we will see smaller test cruises in June, lower capacity with modified itineraries just to get crew back up to speed and with whatever extra precautions in place. People are people and once COVID has any big drops and restrictions are reduced, people will get back to as close to normal as possible.

So we had booked a late April cruise and if Disney doesn’t cancel, we will move it (it’s a GTY so no refund, just moving is allowed). We’ll not cruise until vaccinated. We have one also scheduled for Sept which I’m hopeful will go as scheduled!

I honestly don't believe that any of the cruise lines will sail again until the pandemic is under control. When that happens is a combination of vaccine availability and people's behavior.

I voted in the July-September category, thinking it will be closer to Sept rather than July.

Same... July seems much more of a pipe dream than September based on how badly the vaccine rollout is going in my state. We have them, we just don't have enough people to administer them! :sad2:

It's not going much better in Canada. While my province seems to be ramping up, others are getting a slow start. The Prime Minister even criticized the roll out this morning during his daily press brief.
