Our July 6th reservation is no longer viewable on DCL website. You also can no longer book any European cruises for June/July.
Only August/Sept. cruises now available to book.

yes, it is no longer on their web site. This was my 11 night Northern European cruise from Dover on July 28th

Just did an online chat with DCL, they responded to me: "They are in the process of cancelling all Magic cruises through early August."
:sad::sad1::sad2:

They asked me to wait for email from DCL for further information.*****

So it's officially canceled now for June, July and half of August for The Magic.
I just read it on the DCL blog.
Because we were not paid in full, we lose our OBB, that's really crappy of them not to give me more time to use it.

So sad. Knew it was going to happen but its no less devastating.
We were on the July 6 Med cruise and I it was in my bucket list to do a Europe/Greek islands cruise. I was so looking fwd to it... :(

Hoping for summer 2022 now, this one was for my husbands "big" birthday celebration....

There goes our second planned and canceled Italy/Greek cruise. Wasn't really planning on going anyway. It is much less of a disappointment this time. Last time, I had first-class airfare setup (a rare treat for us, accomplished through saving serious miles and snagging airfare at the right time), great private tours in Rome and Greece, transportation, etc. Hundreds of hours of work and significant anticipation was gone in a flash. If was crushing. This time, not so much.

My only regret is not deciding whether to pay in full and take the 125% credit for next summer. We were on the fence and now the choice is gone.

Yah. It was also my "big" bd celebration (L birthday, in Roman numerals). We had a 2-month long trip planned in the Middle East , then the cruise, then Europe.. We'll likely skip 2022 as other things are happening for us then so...
Hope your DH can still get a meaningful BD celebration.

Strike 2... Will we try for next year? Will they offer Italy/Greece? I guess I was hopeful more than a year out last year, that this year would be ok. This cancellation easier to swallow- no plans, airline tickets or any expectations. Last year I just cried. This time, I wonder about next year now. I hope we get to go at some point.

The reason we were on the fence about paying in full and taking the credit is because we couldn't see next summer's itinerary, and we may decide to do Italy by land instead. The cruise was a great option for comfort and ease of seeing the Greek islands without long transportation, but it was crazily expensive and does limit the time you have to enjoy each location - taking away your evenings in each place, in particular.

With the added uncertainty of what cruising will look like next summer, we may just call it good and start making plans for a land vacation in Italy instead. We could stay in very nice accommodations and eat in great restaurants, and still save money. My brother lived in Italy. When I initially told him about the cruise and cost, he ran the math of what we were paying per-day and told us we were crazy. He started showing us just how nice we could travel with that per-day cost, and still save money, and it was a pretty compelling case, even though cruising is my favorite type of vacation by far. It won't be as easy and relaxing as a cruise, and it would probably mean we wouldn't go to Greece, but it would open up Northern Italy and Switzerland options. That said, if a similar cruise is on the itinerary, I will probably put down a deposit so we still have that option if we change our minds.

That may be our plan as well, except we were going to see Greece. I am not sure how long I am willing to wait to make that trip by cruise. I am sure a land/ferry tour to the greek islands may be less? I will have to take a hard look. And with more time spent to explore. I agree, if they offer, deposit down, see what the restrictions etc are going to look like and then make your our minds from there. And I also agree-we were doing the cruise to have a relaxing vacation-not to worry about travleing between countries and all the logistics. Life is for the living and too short to wait to see when or what cruising will be in the future. If land tours open up and it seems reasonable, that may be the way to go.

We are thinking of doing Italy by land early part of next year for our Anniversary. We have airfare that has to be used by May 2022, from our TA cruise that was canceled for May 2020.

I'm beginning to wonder if the March 2022 WBPC will be sailing, especially since it is a 14 day cruise. :sad2:

We were on the July 6, 2021 Magic cruise as well. Quite honestly, it's a huge relief. I really wanted to see DCL resume and sail a bit before I got on a ship....and them canceling as early as they did helps us cruisers. For example, I hadn't yet bought airfare. Now I dont have to. I was on a similar cruise in 2020 and getting back airfare and other related reservations was not fun.

Now I can plan for 2022 or beyond with a little more comfort.

then they'll kill AK.

To be fair, THEY are not the ones killing Alaska. That is the government of Canada banning all large ships and the PSVA (PVSA?) - the act which prevents round trip cruises to/from US ports without going to a "distant foreign port". They MAY be holding off on Alaska because I strongly suspect the cruise industry is lobbying congress for at least a temporary suspension of the act under these circumstances and they want to see if it can be done. But if it can't, it is not Disney or any of the other lines "killing" Alaska.

Our 11-night Iceland cruise on the Magic is gone, but the 10-night Baltic is still intact. The plan was to take the Iceland cruise from London to Copenhagen, spend the intervening 8 days on land in Germany, and then take the Baltic cruise back to from Copenhagen to London.

If they are cancelling the one-way cruise to Copenhagen, I don't see them keeping the one in reverse either. The Magic may well be done for the summer.

We are booked on the 10 night Copenhagen to Dover, I don't think it will sail and I'm confused as to why Disney left 4 or 5 Europe cruises 'on the table' as it were. I'm just waiting for the 2022 cruises to be announced to hopefully move our reservation over.
