We will be at Kidani 28-March through 31-March and then hopping over to YC. Can't wait! If someone who is there in early March can report back if the kids splash zone is open, that would be great. I've heard conflicting things and have emailed the question to Disney, but no response yet. Hoping it is since we are doing a resort only stay and my 4 year old would love it while my 13 year old does virtual school in the morning, but if not, the pools look awesome regardless.

The public areas of Jambo are open and you can go to see the animals. There is currently no dining open except Mara during the breakfast hours.

We just got back from a Jambo stay yesterday. We had a great time..but take it seriously when they say nothing is open!! Zawadi is completely cleaned out, all the shelves are bare. (so sad!). The Mara is only open 7:30-11:30am for a very limited quick service breakfast. The good news is that you never have a problem getting an elevator to yourself, and walking around outside by the savannas you pretty much have it to yourselves.

This was our experience in October and I suspect it will be about the same when we're down there next week (exception being that Mara was not open at all then, so breakfast is at least a small improvement).

Even though we've shopped there many times and really didn't need anything, we did still miss it a little bit that the marketplace wasn't opened.

But there was a huge Mara-sized hole in our hearts. In the past, we've even made a trip over to AKL to eat there when we were staying somewhere else! I know it's not anything amazing, but on a non-park day, we always enjoyed the flatbreads, stew, and zebra domes for a QS lunch and then we would check out the animals on the Savannah.

So the Jambo pool is open (unlike Kidani) but just one place for any food-and that's just the AM?

Does Kidani have any food? Or is that pretty far away anyway.

Kidani's pool is open. Their full-service restaurant Sanaa is open for breakfast lunch and dinner, the pool side bar is open for lunch and dinner, and the Johari treasure store has groceries for purchase.

Oh I thought I read it was closed.

So Kidani is the way to go correct? Pool and dining?

I guess it’s possible that something happened to the Kidani pool that closed it for a short period of time this week, but it’s not due for a refurb until 2022. We stayed at Jambo in August and loved it because it was so quiet. But, the food options are definitely easier at Kidani

Snagged Kidani for this weekend. Thanks for the help.

We actually missed Zawadi more than the Mara I think, even though we also enjoy those Mara flatbreads! Zawadi just always seemed to have some unique things to look at, as well as bottles of wine and snacks for back in the room when we didn't want something heavier like a cupcake. None of this bothered us that much though, seeing as we have a Kidani stay coming up in May and also in August!!!

We just returned from a stay @jambo and really loved it. My husband said he was so glad we weren't at Kidani - it always seemed crowded when we made the trek over. Do note: the playground @jambo was closed during our stay for "structural issues." We had no idea ahead of time and were so disappointed. No idea on reopening. But the splash pad at Kidani had a small jungle gym area that was an okay alternative. We really didn't find we missed dining options and the buses were always so empty and prompt!
