Disney's YACHT & BEACH CLUB RESORTS Information & Questions

Checking in from the YC! It is so nice to finally be back here, it really does feel like home here. It is very quiet around here right now, I keep finding myself alone on the path from YC to Epcot, it's super strange. Will be nice when BC opens so there's more life around here.

I did want to mention the buses this morning came, what I feel, was pretty late. I was at the bus stop at 6:20 to catch the first bus to AK, and it didn't show up until 7. Not very helpful when the park opens around 7. By the time we got to AK it had already opened and FoP ended up being a 45 minute wait by then.

I did see an AK bus come down the main entrance road and turn at the convention center at 6:35, so I'm guessing it went to BC. So maybe today was just a one off for the YC buses. Also the MK bus came at 6:50. Hopefully they come earlier tomorrow!

Besides that everything has been great so far, heading back to Epcot soon for some more F&G food!

I have found that submitting feedback via the QR code that runs on the resort TV station often yields quick contact from managers on duty or similar positions. They used to put this QR code on a letter left in the room, but not so much since Covid. They also sometimes send an email during your stay with the same link to give feedback (I sometimes get this email and sometimes don’t). If there and truly encountering manager level/need help now problems, I’d be using this feature, it’s pretty handy.
Thank you all for your responses. I have indeed contacted the manager, and will be doing all the other things that you all suggest. We love to come to Disney, but it’s going to be a while before we ever come back again.

Just back and I wanted to share a transportation experience from YC. My DH had ankle surgery two months ago. He gets along fine, but still occasionally has a little soreness and we decided to avoid the long walk to the studios and take the boat. The studios opened at 9 AM and the boats start running at 8 AM. Yes, people could walk and arrive before 8 AM. However despite that we still had time to get lots of things done early. We were able to ride MMRR twice, Star Tours twice, and get coffee at Trolley Cafe all before 9 AM. I just wanted to reassure people who would prefer to take the boat that you will still be able to see some short lines early on.

Thanks for sharing your views, I don't consider them rants but valid guest comments and feedback.

Capacity is lower but there are not shows open (people eaters by the 100s) or long standby queue lines open to absorb guests in very large volumes.

I am with you on this but did you wait until to day to address this with the Manager? There is one available 24 hours per day. Did you call housekeeping and speak directly the the HK manager?

This is simply either confusion or a poorly trained CM.

Please keep us updated on your visit. Hopeful that your experiences improve.

Dave
I’ve addressed issues with the manager three times since Friday. Maybe I wasn’t clear.

Storm Along Bay Question:

Has anyone had recent experience with brining their own floats/inner tubes to SBA ? I know in the past they allowed it as long as the inner tube/float was clear, but that was before COVID.

:welcome: to posting on this thread!

Do you have an upcoming trip?

Were you able to use your own, clear tubes at SAB in the past?

I was always told that outside floats were not allowed at all, and that the only things permitted were pool noodles or floats for babies/toddlers, as long as an adult was in arms reach.

Thanks for any enlightenment!

We stay DVC 7 nights and decline housekeeping the entire time and just wash our own towels. I don't really get the need for daily room service, ever. Unless people are just more sloppy when on vacation because its not their home.

We never stay regular resort side, do they not do the daily trash emptying with the security check like they do in the DVC rooms? At trash lined walk to my room would anger me as well.
I've never stayed DVC, but I have stayed in condos. A condo is like a little home away from home. I'll wash towels, tidy up the counter, and sweep up little messes and so forth. When our family of 4 stay in a 2 bedroom, we just have more personal space.

When we stay in a hotel room, it is just a different type of "feeling" for a lack of a better word. It is nice to come back to a made up bed and fresh towels. With less personal space, little messes are consolidated into a smaller footprint. I just really appreciate daily housekeeping in a hotel room. With the decreased service during Covid, I totally agree with Dave that towels are the biggest issue.

Hmm, in 2019, we used our own noodles in SAB. I hope that's still permitted! We prefer them to the tubes that they offer.

As far as I know, noodles are still allowed at Stormalong Bay.

@VAtink If you find yourself at the pool, could you ask a life guard or recreation CM about noodle use and/or what guests are allowed to bring to SAB from home.

Thanks!

. I reserved a "garden/woods" view and were assigned to room 4082 which, I believe, is a water view because we looked out over the quiet pool.

Actually, the quiet pool view is garden view, not water view. It used to be water view but there were always complaints because it’s not nearly the same view as looking out over the lake. It was changed to garden view several years ago.

I've seen a few comments on trash and just leaving it outside your room, but you said you took your trash out. Where did you take it?
We had a paper grocery bag of trash and I placed it in a trash receptacle on the boardwalk. I looked for a receptacle in the ice maker room, but there was nothing there.

That makes sense. Thanks.

The quiet pool is actually listed as water view now. You got me excited for a minute and I went to change to water view, lol. I have garden view booked because my kids didn't want the quiet pool.

View from our room 3171

King bed, shower only, first room on the hall coming off the elevator, slightly larger balcony. We did like the view, but you have to be a little bit careful in this room. The rooms that are perpendicular to it can see directly into this room if people are on their balcony. This would be especially true at night if you have the lights on.

I haven't kept up with the dining prices. What is the current price on the length-of-stay mugs? Pics of the current design?

I don’t think that is supposed to say “quiet” pool, but just pool. It always said pool, because of SAB, which is a water view. Beach Club’s quiet pool is a waterview, because that also looks out on Crescent Lake. There is a map of the rooms & categories on the YC section on page 1, which shows the quiet rooms are garden view. I understand Disney could have changed the categories, but so far, no one has reported getting a room overlooking the quiet pool listed in their MDE as waterview. Maybe if someone is there soon & gets assigned a quiet pool view room, they can let us know what it is listed as on MDE.

🤷‍♀️ who knows. I do know I wanted a lake view room but I didn't book water view because of that stupid quiet pool listing. Watch me get that now with my garden view🤪🤣

Someone please refresh my memory. In the past when I rented a cabana at SAB, the reservation showed in my plans with a confirmation number.
I have a current reservation and nothing is showing, also not even a confirmation email.
I was given a confirmation number when I booked and was told I rented cabana 1. I am just surprised there is no paper trail.
