Best transportation option from SNA to Disneyland

That's a shame to read about Uber and the surge pricing. I swear we've gone SNA to Disneyland for about $20. It was always better than a taxi.

Yeah, it’s very frustrating. We had prices change as we were confirming our ride, and they don’t seem to come as quickly before.

We just used Lansky after reading about them here. They were great! Car was very nice and completely clean. Both drivers were on time and professional. I would recommend.

I switched to Lyft a few years ago versus Uber. I feel like the surge thing is not as drastic.

Fly into SNA tomorrow morning. Wondering if I should even bother with an Uber or just take a taxi. Obviously would like to save a good chunk but not worth the hassle if they are gonna cancel my ride or have to wait a long time.

I mean, you used to be able to depend on Uber/Lyft being $22-25, but it seems they more commonly apply "surge pricing" that can bring it up, especially during rush hour. With the taxis you can get a standard flat rate of $45, I believe, at least FROM the airport. I paid $45 not including tip for my Uber at 5 p.m. on Thursday, from Harbor hotel to SNA.

I was there for Touch of Disney, and didn't have any issues getting from the airport ((SNA)) to my hotel, but on the way BACK; from my hotel to SNA I had a hard time getting a driver. I was trying Uber and Lyft. Uber had surge pricing and lyft kept trying to find a driver, but it took quite awhile! For my next trip there in July, I have booked a Wingz pickup to take me from the hotel to the airport (because i don't want to be late for my flight). I figure I'll still try uber or lyft to get from the airport to the hotel, since I don't have anywhere I *have* to be that day. FYI, Wingz was 34.00 from the Castle Inn to SNA airport. I haven't use it before, but if it works out well, I may stick with it. It's a scheduled ride and the price falls between Ubere/Lyft and a taxi. We shall see!

Also wanted to add; I've never taken a taxi from SNA before. It is helpful to know the pricing, and that taxis are usually available to just walk up to at the airport. (I did not know that.) Nice to know that is a viable option at if needed. Thanks to those that posted that info!

Agreed! Thank you for all the details. I’ve always just used Lyft so it’s good to know that’s gotten a little more expensive. For taxis, can I just slip our booster seat in one like I’ve done for lyft? The idea of being able to just walk out and grab a taxi is appealing.

This is my concern. We are going on labor day weekend so I am guessing (at least when we arrive) it will be surge pricing. I was thinking about a taxi TO our hotel but then maybe uber back since we aren't leaving till the 8th which will hopefully be after the surge. I haven't used a taxi in years. I am assuming you need to give them cash but do they even have change? I have had issues before with them not having change. UGH. I just wish they would bring back a shuttle or that Lyft would go back to being convenient. :(

I've been looking into transportation from LAX for September, and all the services I've gotten quotes from have been around $100 each way! I'm starting to think Uber or a taxi will be cheaper after all. Anyone had any luck?

Enterprise car rental was $75 one way from LAX to Harbor Blvd location. If you need more space, they have a mini-van available for $92.50.

We're going this route instead of hiring a car service or Uber/Lift. Especially since we'll have more time flexibility to make multiple stops along the way. Nice lunch after a long flight, stop at a grocery store and a few bakery's we like to visit in the LA area before driving down to Disneyland.

Almost all of them will take major credit cards; just confirm with the driver or the person who is coordinating. I've only once had a driver tell me their CC machine was broken so the coordinating person just moved me to the next cab in line. They do however appreciate the cash tips so if you can do that it would be good.

Taxi at airport was SUPER easy last week and they took a credit card.

Over the weekend, we decided to fly to DL in October vs. driving 7+ hours without stops. Booked the airfare to SNA and Lansky for round-trip ground transportation to/from the Grand Californian. So while I can't comment on the actual service yet, I can confirm that they are professional over the phone, prompt with providing quotes and easy to work with for the final booking. It's $185 roundtrip from SNA to any of the DLR hotels, which I felt was a decent deal.

We decided to book a car service because a) our daughter will need a booster seat and b) we don't want to worry about return transportation. I've heard that – pre-pandemic – calling a Lyft/Uber to the Grand for pickup could take MUCH longer than anticipated and in, some cases, the ride would get canceled. That's a headache we really want to avoid, esp. as we're taking the very last flight home out of SNA. But I absolutely will be that woman that calls first thing in the morning to triple confirm our reservation. 😁

I paid $101 for Execucar to take us one way from Harbor to LAX. I’ve had a bad experience with them in the past and forgot I wasn’t going to use them again. But It was fine this time. My point in responding is to say they they sent me multiple texts in the 48 hours before to confirm, and called me in the morning.

I expect Lansky will do the same. Will try them next time.

I took a supershuttle with my family of 4. The van type was just us no other passengers, I believe it was called SuperShuttle Express.

That's good to know!

I am now following closely on this! Won’t be there until October and December, but I have always used Super shuttle in past trips. I only have myself and another adult, so I really don’t know what will be best! All advice welcome!
