Are WDW parks really overflowing with trash?

I didn't mean to imply that the condition of the trash cans was the fault of visitors. That is almost always the fault of Disney. However there are many other unsanitary conditions that are the fault of the visitors. When CMs have to spend extra time dealing with the messes that visitors leave behind, there is less time to address other things. Yes, Disney can hire more CMs but if everyone was just respectful of others and cleaned up after themselves, the parks would be so much more pleasant for everyone.

The custodial CMs that go around emptying trash bins are doing ONLY that. There are different ones who clean up tables and such.

Is this a case of; you will find or see what you are looking for? Regardless, those pictures are disheartening.. i know i will be on the look out during my next trip in late August....

Not for us. I didn’t read about any of this & came it across is several times last week & remarked about it to our party. Then I got home & saw this thread & thought, yep, we saw the same thing.

Sorry. Disney doesn't get a pass on this. People didn't leave it sitting on a table. They brought it to a trash can.

If Disney can't stay on top of the trash, they shouldn't be increasing capacity. They should only allow in the number of people they can service.

Well said!

I've been wondering a while about the capacity levels in relation to CM levels and physical space. Are crowd levels increasing much faster than spaces are reopening (especially with all the construction work going on, as well)? Are, ironically, guests now more squashed than pre-2020 (just wondering)?

Complain. In writing, not to some poor schlub of a CM who can't do a dang thing about it.

A couple of years ago I noticed that sort of situation around trash cans in the BTMRR queue. I went back to my hotel room late that night, fired up my tablet and sent a letter to Passholder Guest Relations. I got a polite answer a few days later with the signature of a real person, and to this day I have never seen the wastecans in the BTMRR queue overflow again.

If guests just shrug about this standards will slip for good, but if we complain it will most likely be taken care of.

Yes, I really feel for The CMs who bear the brunt. It's always important to talk to the right people about these things, not just the handiest CM.

I'm prettty sure I'd see that mess whether I was looking for it or not. I never go hunting for dirty bathrooms or try to spot overflowing trash cans. But I'm used to a pretty clean park and so when you see it filthy, it gets your attention quick.

I would have told a cast member at the ride for the Kali River examples. Those are pretty bad. They would be able to radio someone to make it a priority and clean it up as soon as possible.

I'm paying to be here, I'm not doing the job of someone who gets paid to be here. I was at SeaWorld the last two days and did not see this, let alone twice in two lines. They had enough staff to micromanage mask wearing not long ago but can't empty a trash can?

I don't mean to be snarky to you, but I'm pretty angry that I pay 3x the amount of my SeaWorld AP, get less discounts and see this literal trash in the park.

I sent an email including all the pics, finally. It won't do any good, but maybe if enough people complain, they'll do something. I completely understand not wanting to have to take time from your expensive vacation to do their job. The CM's know those trash cans are there but someone is clearly telling them it's not a priority. Different parks, different days- this is not just isolated incidences.

They have the staff to do what they want to do, I am convinced of it. It's a priority issue, not a staffing issue.

A polite complaint will get you a lot farther than being angry. That's not doing their job for them.

I've noticed so many CM just standing around shooting it. I've heard people say they're training and that makes a lot of sense, but management can't spare one or two of the many people shooting it to go empty a trash can or two?

I wouldn't waste a moment in the parks either. But you should send those photos to guest relations when you're home.

Yes it is literally doing their job for them. I don't work here. Keeping WDW clean is not what I am paid to do. I paid money for my family to ride rides and have fun together. Posting confirmation that yes, WDW trash cans are overflowing is passing time in line. I'd rather do that than find a CM to tell them trash cans are overflowing.
