Hoping some pixie dust comes my way. I'm trying to plan a January trip. I have our last 2 nights at Shades of Green booked. I have 3 nights in a Kidani 1-bedroom. I've been hesitating on borrowing points from next year until my boy gets his leave request approved, it's still not done, but he thinks it's a 95% chance of going through. I have nothing booked for our first night or 2 nights in the middle. A few days ago I noticed a 2 bedroom at Saratoga was available, but again, waiting on the boy. Now nothing is available.

My grand plan- first three nights at Universal, on or offsite. Then move that Kidani over 2 nights to any DVC that sleeps 5. Then our last 2 nights at Shades. I just can't seem to get the first part of this trip to work out. I'm ready to borrow my points and book, but now nothing is avail. I don't want to move flights and car rental around since those are locked in, but I may have to move this entire trip at this point.

Has anyone stayed in a Cabana Bay family suite? I don't think we'd need front of the line passes and the suites would fit all 5 of us. I just need to make sure I can fit an air mattress in there somewhere.

Accessing Chase travel portal
Earning and redeeming Chase Ultimate Rewards points
To access the Chase travel portal, you’ll need to have a credit card that earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, like the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card, Chase Sapphire Reserve®, Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card, Ink Business Unlimited® Credit Card, Ink Business Cash® Credit Card, Chase Freedom Unlimited® or Chase Freedom Flex℠.

You'll find the Swan, Dolphin and Reserve on REGULAR Expedia, but I understand there has been some blocking of these properties historically on the Chase travel portal (sorry, didn't know that history). But right now, the Swan Reserve is showing up on the Chase Travel portal for some users, but not all. I had to search a bit to find it myself.

Here's some info I posted about booking the Swan Reserve vs through Bonvoy.

Thanks but it may not be showing for me. On the dropdown under landmarks, I choose "Walt Disney World Resort" and then type "swan" in "hotel name" on that same left side of the page and I don't see anything.

Question on Platinum $200 FHR and Hotel Collection credit. Amex gives you the credit based on when the charge hits the card, not based on when the stay happens, right? I had planned to use it for the last 2 nights of a December trip, but looks like that's not happening so I wanted to book something else in 2022 but still get 2021's $200.

Correct. It needs to be prepaid, so the charge will hit right away. Then you'll get the credit a few days later.

CSR, on Expedia still
I search by map. Sometimes I have to keep searching the area, but it does pop up for me.
Yeah I see it on Expedia. I even found it on the map on Chase Travel map, but you can't book from there that I see and i would think it would be showing on the main list of properties. So, I'm wondering if its only showing for CSR or CSP cardholders?

I don't see it on CSP, CIU, or CIC. So we have 2 data points that it works (for now) on CSR and the portal needs to still show Powered by Expedia. Presumably, once it finishes migrating to Connexions, Swan Reserve will stop showing up.

New premium Capital One card coming out. 100k for $10k spend, $395 AF. Comes with $300 credit through their travel portal. I checked a couple random dates and prices don't look the same as direct with Disney. Yacht Club was more and Disneyland Hotel was less but nonrefundable(!).

Can add up to 4 AU at no cost who get their own lounge access with 2 guests.

Any other downsides (other than the fact that they hit all 3 credit checks?)

I've never bothered with Cap One - any reason to do so over Chase and Amex?

I don't know if this has changed, but when they started doing points transfers it was less than 1:1. IIRC it was 3 venture miles to 2 points in whatever traveler program. I wouldn't choose them over Chase or AMEX but would over Citi.

We have stayed a CB a few times and it is very nice just a different feel than the other resorts. I think you would be fine.

So I totally jinxed myself Weds night. I was out to dinner w/ the BF talking about how I never get sick....enter Thursday and I'm miserable all day at school. Went to urgent care after, and I have an ear infection, much like I suspected. Crazy how much something like that can make you feel terrible! I put in for a sub last night, knowing there was like a 99% chance I wouldn't get one. I didn't. When I woke up I felt okay enough....so here I am at school. The secretary told me to let her know if I need ANYTHING! I told her let's just hope I make it through today and feel okay.

Does anyone have a Chime bank account? I see it on best bank bonuses' on Doctor of Credit. looks like there's a support option but I don't see it on the dischurners' Misc. support thread. If you have one - put it over there and I'm going to try and double dip the Swagbucks and support links.
I do, but looks like you got it ;)

When did we all open these Motley Fool accounts?
I feel like my account said it renews in like Jan. IDK, but I turned off the auto renewal online, so I hope I'm good to go.

Just coming to post this Lowe’s $250 get $50 back DH and I have it on our BBP cards
Are we using these for giftcards most of the time? I had the offer on my Delta Gold Biz.

No DP yet but I applied for one SW business card in October…instant approval …planning on applying for the second in December…..if not approved I’ll close my SW personal card, wait then apply for a new one
30 days after biz min.,right? Just verifying b/c I think I'll need one of each, trying to decide which order is best

Possible Rakuten tip: I placed 3 GC-only orders on ShopDisney this week. For the first two, about an hour later, I clicked “missing cash back” and submitted a request for the cash back. As Rakuten usually does, they somewhat immediately added the cash back to my account. It’s still there 2 days later (although of course it could still disappear). For the 3rd purchase, I waited a day. I checked on it, and the purchase had the check next to it and showed that “$0 was added for that order.”

SO....I plan to submit a “missing cash back” request immediately after a GC-only order. I figure that way at least I’ve got a chance of it getting added and sticking around.

I have a question on adding an AU to Amex. I got the offer to add an AU for 10K bonus points after 2K spend so I added my daughter as an AU. I don't plan on giving her the card, but using it myself. Now, do the offers I have on my car extend to that one too? Specifically I plan to book a RC cruise since I have the $500 back, but wondering if it will work to use "her" card?

Click the destination on the map and an info box pops up at the bottom of the map. Click that info box and a new page opens for booking.

Happy to see a suite that sleeps 5 at only 45K night.

Yes…min of 30 or 31 days after the first…although I’ve read that some do the MDD with 2 business cards…..since I don’t need the CP until March my plan is to wait aprox 2 months between the business applications

Retention offers? Never thought that was a thing until I started reading this thread. Do all/most credit cards have this or only the high annual fee cards? Do you just call the normal number on the card and ask for a retention offer?
