How many resorts do you call home?

I don’t walk, stalk, borrow, waitlist, or try to work the calendar to”benefit” from AP’s. I also don’t really like booking at 11 months, but will do it to secure a room and actually start planning in earnest about 4 or 5 months out.

Definitely a mind akin to mine.

Borrowing, we've done to get a 1br, but DH is the details guy and messes with all that.

Me, I hate everything you mentioned in your first sentence. I'd joyfully do without ADRs if we could but the TS places I prefer don't consider me a VIP entitled to a plummy table upon appearing, funniest thing.

I have worked to maintain a single home resort and a single use year, so I can maximize my 11 month booking window. I have 510 points across 8 contracts added on across 5-6 years or so.

I have not regretted it at all. One member ID. One banking date, incredibly simple to manage.
510 points that's great! We also have the same use year and we do not consider different use years. Only so much my brain can handle

I would say 16 would be too many..... But I would like to know where you found that 16th!

I however only have 2.... BLT and AKV. A long way to go!

Right now I can say 3 (AKV, BLT, OKW) but I'm only flipping the BLT and OKW contracts. AKV is our home. We'll see what comes along next.

5 - RIV (direct), AKL, PVB, VGF, CCR (resale) with 2 use years

All bought in 2021 - addonitis hit hard and fast. Started with RIV, but DH really wanted AKL. RIV and AKL are bigger contracts for 2BR+ family trips. PVB, VGF and CCV are smaller contracts for DH and I for studio/1BR split stays.

I wanted the 11-mo booking window to ensure we get to stay at the locations we love. Willing to switch to other resorts at 7-mo, but don't want to be stressed about piecing together a trip and potentially wait listing days at a time.

Would like to pick up a small HHI or subsidized AUL, but DH says NOOOOO.

I think there can be too many, but haven‘t reached it yet. I have, however, run out of cash!

I bought DVC, planning to buy an AP in summer 2020. I wouldn't have bought DVC without APs, honestly. I don't think I'm the only one who planned that way.

So, now I'm in the position where I finally have my APs (for a year at least), so yay for me. But if APs aren't available, maybe it's time to sell. Swolphin is $159 and has a laundromat in the basement. My contracts are so far up in value, and I don't want to be left holding the bag on a product which keeps getting undermined by leadership decisions.
I own at akl, bought late 2021 With enough points for a week. I’d love to add gfv to my holdings. However I don’t have an ap. I refuse to buy any more dvc points until ap go on sale. Im not investing in more Disney vacations if all I can get are day tickets

f Disney, I’ll go spend my money somewhere else and just make do with one week a year

Own 2 resorts SSR and OKW. Almost had a third last year, I was too slow on a nice VGF contract.

8: PVB, VGF, BLT, BCV, SSR, RIV, VGC and AUL.
So Cal residents, annually we do 4 WDW trip, 1 AUL trips and 6-7 VGC staycations. Our points all get used 😝
As of yesterday - 8 home resorts as well - SS, OKW, BLT, BC, GF, VWL/BRV, HH and just added a small contract to BW. 4 UYs and 13 or 14 contracts (I forget exactly). All my resale contracts are old enough to be pre-restriction and all my post-restriction contracts are direct (and small). I do plan on selling my last 2 OKW and then buying more GF and maybe BC…I love love love OKW but can’t really do stairs anymore…Over 1200 points and I’m still always in borrow mode!

We own two - OKW & BCV.

My two sons (three kids) own small SSR contracts. One has a different UY (All of us direct).

For me/us, booking becomes an issue when we try to plan a stay with one/two or all three of my kids. Trying to secure the same resort for multiple parties at the 11 month window is more work and not always possible.

Hey DVC fam. I own at Poly SSR and AKL. I’m looking at beach club contracts thinking to myself how many is too many home resorts. Let me know how many home resorts you own at and if you think too many is possible!

We own where we want to stay (BCV, CCV, BLT, and VGC). We ALWAYS end our WDW trips at BCV, so of course I’d highly recommend owning there if you want to stay there. The only other resort we love to stay at is Aulani, but we use extra points at the 7 month without any issues. No plans to ever purchase there though!

We own at - BWV, SSR, AKV, VGC, OKW, BLT, RIV, VGF, and just passed ROFR on CCV. So we are at 9 resorts. We typically only stay for long weekends so we like having lots of 11 month window choices.

Still no-one has posted they own everywhere, I bet @Lorana is not far off.
I've got 3 AKV is home but BWV and OKW big favourites too

Hahaha! I did almost pick up a subsidized Aulani contract but the seller wanted too much per point, and as an East Coaster, I wasn’t certain I’d make use of it as often as I’d want. I could use for SAP, but just decided to add on more points to AKV.

But we own at 8 resorts: AKV (and we have both Jambo and Kidani contracts, as we wanted both!), BRV, CCV, HHI, PVB, RIV, SSR, VGC. So just over half way there to owning them all! ;-)
