I need a little bit of hand holding re: booking Hyatt with URs. I want to book two rooms, one in my daughter’s name and one in mine. I didn’t see any way to do that in one fell swoop. Do I just book one room and then right afterwards go back in and book the other? Should I reserve them both in my name, or is that not allowed?

Just got an email for a bonvoy brilliant upgrade offer from amex from my regular bonvoy card. 100,000 points for 5k spend.

Of course my venture x arrived today and I have 10k spend for that plus I still need to spend another 2k on my southwest card.

Is this even worth it?

Is it ever possible to get the RCHMB on the Marriott FNC? I haven't seen it for 50k but if it's possible I should look again. We have something booked for this summer with the FHR credit from 2021, but free is always a better deal.

There are some 50k nights. Not Friday or Saturday nights and not summer, but you can find other dates using the flexible dates calendar.

Bonvoy-
I booked St Regis Maldives for next Feb/Mar...we'll see if it actually happens but figured why not? Availability was wide open and I was able to book an overwater bungalow and still have almost 200K points in my account remaining which will likely go to boring stays for in law and DD visits lol.

That's awesome you were able to book overwater with points! Hope you get to go.

Is this through the Chase travel portal or transferring UR to Hyatt? If it's directly with Hyatt, you have to do award bookings one at a time. You can have both rooms in your name. But maybe you want it in her name so she gets the stay credit for Brand Explorer. Or if you're Globalist and want to make sure she gets the benefits then you should do Guest of Honor.

That's a nice upgrade offer! Have you had the Brilliant before? If not, taking the upgrade will lock you out of getting the SUB in the future.

Thanks for this. I guess I just need to look harder. I suppose it doesn't really need to be a weekend (although those are so much easier for us to schedule). I can't think of anything else close to home where I can happily use the FNC.

Do banks do a hard inquiry on your credit when you open a checking account?

I received another bonus offer to open a checking account. My savings is making almost nothing in interest. So I am considering putting $1500 into this bank to earn the $400 bonus. I do want to keep my credit score as high as possible, though.
I have never had them do this. Sometimes they will use Chex Systems but that will not affect your credit score. It is an old system that was used for people that bounce checks and have overdrafts etc not for Credit Cards or loans.
I just opened a new acct for a $500 bonus. Not sure if I am allowed to say the name, but it is a bank I already had an old card with. The public offer is $400 so it might be the same one OP is using. I searched before applying and the DPs said this bank doesn't do a hard pull. They were correct, it did not. This bank also let me use a credit card to fund the new acct, so I was able to help meet my MSR as well!
Here is my CIC experience for a DP.

I applied for my first Chase business card on Friday and received a thank you we will let you know as soon as possible reply. I called on Monday to see if they needed any additional information and was told that it had been approved on Sunday with a $4k CL. I asked if it was possible to have the delivery expedited. They requested the expedited delivery and said it should arrive on Tuesday or Wednesday. The card arrived this morning via UPS.

I have a personal Chase account. The CSR said after I create the business account I could call back and have the two accounts linked. I am trying to decide if it would be better to link the accounts or keep them separate. Does anyone have any pros or cons for either option? Thank you.
I love having mine combined because it so easy to navigate among all of them through the app (and online).

Reminder that the Hyatt category changes are coming March 22 and Bonvoy is going dynamic pricing March 29. I used these lists to figure out what I should get booked:
Hyatt
Bonvoy

What has everyone been booking? I used Cat 1-4 FNC to book the Hyatt Place Santa Cruz, which is going up to Cat 5. Booked the Park Hyatt New York, which is going up to Cat 8 (10k increase!). For Bonvoy, I booked a couple speculative dates for the Ritz Half Moon Bay, which is potentially going up 30k! Also booked the Vespera Pismo Beach with a 50k FNC, that's potentially going up 10k.

Hilton had an unannounced deval. More properties are 120k standard room now. Doesn't affect FNC though. No way to plan for those, but glad I got in on the Conrad Bora Bora when it was 89k.
Thanks for the reminder! I need to book my Paris/Rome nights for my August trip. Luckily, my CIB SUB points hit tomorrow. Now, I just have to make a final decision on where I want to stay.

I prefer aspirational properties even if I have to pay for a night or two. Anybody stayed at the Hilton Maison Astor in Paris? Any Hyatt/Hiton/Bonvoy suggestions for either city?

Bonvoy FNC DP. I still have two 50,000 pts FNCs from my 2020 SUB that were Covid extended through June 30, 2022. I was hoping to get a 60 day extension so I could use them in Europe during my August trip. I was on hold for 30 minutes only to be told there was absolutely no chance of getting them extended again because they had already been extended once.

I remember someone here reporting a couple of months ago that they were told no, but to call back closer to the June 30 expiration date. Sounds like they have decided to give us a hard no on these requests.

Well, I tried and I'm seeing nothing at all. :( Either it's sold out or I'm just doing it wrong.

Sometimes it glitches out. If you see not available for all dates, that's what it is. It seems to do that more on mobile. You can also try a different browser.

This article has screenshots of where to find the option: Link

Thanks. I will try again. We were on DH's laptop using Chrome I believe.

Hello! been lurking here, need some advice. I am 3/24, 2 silly cards before I "met " you all, and on 2/10 SW RR - for the CP. Met the MSR for the CP, and just found out I need to make a substantial deposit on braces in a month. So I need a new card sooner than 90 days.
Question. is the 90 days between Chase apps "recommended" or RECOMMENDED?
Master plan is CSR next, then CFF - planning for September Food & Wine and December Universal -
also, recently refinanced, hasn't hit my Credit score yet, which is high 700s - thinking it will cause a temp dip, so another reason to apply CSR sooner? No P2. If I am not approved - what then? a different path?
thanks.

Here's a recommendation from SouthFayetteFan on pacing, which answer's your question regarding Chase applications: https://www.disboards.com/threads/i...t-page-for-addl-details.3729982/post-61161429

Many here apply for biz cards, even if you have just a small side hustle, like selling things on eBay or Facebook marketplace, etc. If you are already 3/24 and can see yourself really getting involved in CCs, this is something you will want to consider. Especially in one-player mode, as it will extend your ability to open cards while staying under 5/24, if you so desire.

Amex cards are easy to get approved for and the space between a Chase application and Amex application isn't an issue. Personal cards will count towards your 5/24 count. Biz cards will not.

VentureX (Capital One) has been getting a lot of attention lately and has a new sign up bonus with a smaller SUB.

1. Can you hit the extra spend?
2. Will you use the 100k points

If you answer yes to both do it. Don’t forget Marriott dips a toe into dynamic pricing this month with a few properties and then goes all in on dynamic pricing one year later.

ETA: obviously only walk through these q’s if you answer yes you’ve had the card before to @wanderlust7

Sometimes. The prime source for that info is Doctor of Credit. Search your banks name and it’s possible they will pop up as having had an offer and DoC’s rundown will include if they do a hard or soft hit on your credit report using info sourced from comments.

You are allowed to say the name! We always love a bank that does cc funding without cash advance fees around here!

You just are not allowed to post support links that would give you a bonus if anyone were to sign up under an “send a link to a friend” type offer. (Those can be posted on our DISchurners Reddit.)
