DLR Vets: What are your top 3 not to be missed experiences?

For some reason I had only gotten them from DTD so I thought I might be missing out. During my last trip I made a point to get the Mickey ones. I was surprised by the difference. I had been lucky to be missing out all those years and will go back to it.

The ones in the park are Mickey shaped air. I can't stand them. Nothing at all like real beignets.

1) Sitting at Sonoma Terrace (DCA) with an adult beverage to rest and people/park watch
2) Finding the little man of Disneyland's house in Adventureland
3) Pixie Hollow at night for the fairy light show
(Can't remember the frequency of this -- anyone know? Hopefully they do this still!)

1) Hand dipped ice cream bars at Clarabelle's, on a bench in DCA, watching the fireworks over the monorail bridge. (I really hate loud fireworks. I know we can't get the story this way, but it's the only way DH gets to watch them!)

2) Cold brew black caf in hand, when standing in line for Rise.

3) Giant nachos at Craftsman Bar.

Yes, things all around food 😀

On the topic of little known things, someone once told me (way pre-pandemic) that Alice In Wonderland did musical chairs at one of the restaurants. Is this still a thing?

Never heard about this, but she often used to host a "tea party" at that little seating area under the monorail beam behind Edelweiss Snacks. She also frequently rides the teacups with the Mad Hatter.

Found a video, this was posted in 2019 so at least it was happening recently. Maybe someone in the know can tell us if it's happening now or not. We missed it last time we went.

I'm not a big coffee drinker but I loved this drink! Ended up having one everyday we were there! 😍
I finally tried this drink (cold brew black caf from Docking Bay 7) on my last visit and it was amazing. I was so happy it wasn’t sweet as most Disney drinks are far far too sweet for me.

It’s super caffeinated though! I was practically vibrating when I finished it. 😆

Pre-Covid (June 2018) Alice and the Mad Hatter invited my son and my friend’s kids to have a tea party in the little seating area next to the Casey Junior Train. It was incredibly adorable and the kids were over the moon. I have not seen it back yet but maybe now that characters are no longer distanced they will do it again.

One of my faves is to walk thru the Disney Gallery at Disneyana, I just love anything vintage, and especially vintage Disney, and there is a lot of memorabilia there.
Grab a snack and/or drink and head over to Tom Sawyer Island and just walk around or sit and relax. It’s a great place to get away from the crowds for a bit, and something is just so peaceful over there.
We stay at GCH because we’re DVC, but I also love to walk the grounds at DLH just because it’s so pretty and again, peaceful. It’s very lush and green, with pretty flowers and plants/trees, seems very tropical, plus, it’s the original hotel and the classic charm is still there.
Everything else is pretty much a given… ride all of the rides, eat all of the food, see all of the characters. There’s just too many things to list in those categories, but I really love finding relaxing areas and things that aren’t the obvious choice of the masses… but no matter how long we’re there, it always seems too short!

We are planning a trip to DLR soon and my teenage grandson said to me, "Nana, I just want to sit in Disneyland with you." I am so blessed and am looking forward to just sitting with him and enjoying being in Disneyland. I have not done some of the things that have been mentioned, so will check them out too.

I think the wandering characters are one of the most charming things about Disneyland that isn't at Disney World. It was very exciting to spot characters just wandering around.
