Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

We are checking into Jambo on Saturday. I'm seeing on the app that Mara doesn't start breakfast until 7:30. That seems late given park hours. Can anyone confirm that opening time for breakfast?

The Jambo gift shop (and the Mara grab and go) should have breakfast food that you can pick up during the day or evening and keep in your room to eat in the morning. Somehow donuts seem more of a breakfast food than the Gideon's cookies that PP ate.

Mara opens at 6:30 for bakery items and fruit, juice, coffee, cereal but doesn’t serve hot breakfasts until 7:30.

We did have a vehicle. But half the reason we booked a resort was to avoid the parking lot boiling asphalt death march, and to enjoy adult beverages at the park without doing driving math.

I have never seen trouble with busses at AKL. I would not make future plans based on a current times negativr experience. I am sure there are still staffing challenges. Any time I tire of the whole bus seen I use uber..such a luxury!

Booked my first stay at AKL with the one bedroom villa next January. I wish I could’ve done it a few months later but with our family’s schedule it was a chore situating that time.

We’ll be there the last week of January so does anyone have any experience as to how it is around that time? I know contrary to popular belief Florida can get cold around that time of year so how does that effect the animals? Are they maybe put in a designated area because of the weather (in case there is a big cold snap)?

For those of you that are there now or have recently been, how are the condition of the rooms/housekeeping? After reading recent reviews on Trip Advisor, I'm a little concerned.

Are you asking for cash rooms or for DVC? Because I stayed DVC last month and I only received housekeeping (making of the beds and towels) on the 4th day of my stay. Trash was taken out every day but I did have to call and request more towels, which I received within 10-15 minutes of calling. I also requested a bottle opener (my room did not have one) and someone came to give me one in 10 minutes.

As for the room, the key reader on my door was broken so half the time the door would not open when I scanned my Magicband or a key card that I got from the front desk. It took a few tries before the door would open each time. Some of the furniture in the room looked a little worn/old. I did notice that the sheets on the pull out bed had some dark red stains so I did call and request new sheets, which were changed out at some point when I left my room.

We just got back from a 9 day stay in a 1br Value room. We had an incredible stay!

Just wanted to mention that we had some of the best bus service we have ever had, at any resort. We were surprised because we stay at AKL pretty frequently and we know this is not the norm, LOL! But we really had great luck this trip.

Housekeeping was good. Trash and Towel and our full clean day were done early in the day as we requested while we were out at the parks. One thing that has been driving us crazy at AKL in particular is that we always have to request more toilet paper, which is ridiculous. They know that stuff isn't great, I mean no one is stealing it!!! Other than that one issue, our room was very clean and everything was in good shape. We did have the new Smart TV's.

We are headed down on Friday, staying from 6/17-6/25.

We will be there early in January. We asked a ranger CM about January and he said the animals generally like the cooler weather.

Now, should it freeze, that might be a different story. They have a barn they return to every night, and perhaps only some of them would be free to roam.

We are 70 out from our trip. 76 days away from our first AKL stay. It’s a split stay with the first 6 days at All-Star Movies. We’ve never stayed at a deluxe resort before. I’m so excited!

What's with all the terrible reviews the past few months on trip advisor? Mostly about dirty rooms and nobody cleaning with a touch of the CM's being really rude at the front desk

I don't really let reviews get to me, but geez. Hopefully people at Disney are seeing this

*BTW, if you have never been, don't be scared by those reviews, its breathtaking

Stayed in May, encountered none of those problems. It was trouble free and terrific!
