The other day, I saw someone giving away her Alexa music speaker, saying she wanted a non-listening speaker. I didn't want it as I already have Google reading my emails and following me around on my Android phone.

And apparently Microsoft is watching what I'm doing too. I rarely use Microsoft Edge, yet when I do, I see ads for items I looked at on Firefox. So, MS and Edge are keeping track of what I do.

And so is Spectrum Cable/Internet. I happened to complain about them HERE on the DIS in another post, saying how much I want to cut the cable cord, but my Spectrum Cable is crap, so I'd have to switch Internet companies. About a week later, I suddenly get an email from Spectrum saying they have boosted my Internet speed for free. Really Spectrum Cable? You've had 300 mbps for years, and supposedly gave it to us a while back (except of course, our own speeds may vary. And I never got that speed.) Yet, suddenly I get a new email saying I have it for real this time? Suspicious timing.

I don't drink coffee, but still can't say the coffee maker. Perhaps a Keurig, but I make my iced tea in a coffee maker.

I can never think of these things unless I read someone elses. Since I don't have it, I don't pay attention and I don't know what is common that other people have that I don't. I have the IP and AF gadgetry in the kitchen.

Oh, there it is since I said kitchen. I don't have a working stove/oven. Propane ran out when I first moved broke with nothing. I literally had $10,000 to my name and no home, only a bed to sleep in at night. Paid $9500 for the trailer and bought a TV for in it. Propane ran out and before I could get someone to deliver the furnace went out. So I had a furnace to finance and pay for. I was given an induction burner and I've been satisfied with that as I never would use the oven. Most of the year I couldn't because it would kill my air conditioner.

I could get propane now, I just don't want to bother. I grill mostly, have the induction burner, my gadgets like the air fryer and instant pot. Electric skillet I make breakfast on. Charcoal Kettle I cook steaks and smoke on. I have no use for a stove/oven in the kitchen.

I have a Mr. Coffee Iced tea maker.....must be 25-30 years old. Use it constantly from March-Oct.......and then stop drinking iced tea for the winter

Yup, since you mentioned it... I don't want everything I interact with in life connected to the internet.

In Colorado, everyone is upset because they signed up to some energy saving program where they get a reduced bill. They just locked everyone out of their smart thermostats set at 80°. I don't know the specifics, but it sounds like a program at work we are in with the power company. Reduced rates while they can call us and expect us to shut down some of our production to reduce demand on the grid.

I am burning up hot all the time. I would soak my carpets, couch, and bed in sweat if I was locked to 80° on my thermostat.
