No more vaccine requirement

Just received an e-mail vaccine requirement is dropped on DCL
YEP.

Beginning October 14, 2022, for Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish sailings, Disney Cruise Line will no longer require Guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, however, it is highly recommended. All Guests ages 5 years and older who are not fully vaccinated (Unvaccinated Guests) will need to submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 1-2 days before the sail date. Guests ages 4 years of age and younger do not require testing. Acceptable vaccines and testing information can be found in the

I just got that too but I don't understand it?

It says you no longer need to be fully vaccinated BUT you still need to upload proof that you are??? Why?

Because unvaccinated needs to test still

But being vaccinated is not required. So they are assuming that if you are not vaccinated you are more likely to have Covid? Which hasn't really been proven. But I guess that makes sense. I think it's to keep Safe Passage in business.

The testing is stupid now but at this rate it won’t be around much longer. Next step will be what royal did and allow at home tests that aren’t proctored!

Either way big step!

Knew the requirement for 12 and up would drop fast once the others did!

Yeah I think that makes no sense but at this point, just allowing someone to finally cruise is a big deal. I think the majority of people unvaccinated who haven't cruised, won't really care about the testing.

We won’t book and cruise till testing is gone. Not worth the stress . Plus it’s not cheap for 5 people to get a proctored test.

This sucks, we are going with a friend who's kid turns 5 just 10 days before we cruise. I know she will get him vaccinated but no way he can be fully vaccinated before we go, so she'll have to deal with the hassle of getting him tested. He'll be the only one in our travel party that will need testing. Everyone else is vaccinated or under 5

There is no testing required for under 5 if not vaccinated starting Oct 14th

EDIT: Nevermind, read what you wrote wrong. You are right

Unfortunately, that's not likely to happen. They're surely enjoying their $40 per passenger fee...

It would be nice, though! Maybe by October 31?!
I’d pay the fee if I meant I didn’t need to get my 5 year old to take a test…

It also appears that Disney is returning to their standard cancellation policies on October 12. Or maybe they are giving you one final chance to cancel if you are uncomfortable with the removal of vaccination requirements.
Guests booked on the Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy or Disney Wish October 14, 2022, through January 31, 2023, may modify or cancel their sailing by October 11, 2022 without any Disney-imposed cancellation fees. Please contact your travel agent for details on how to cancel or modify your booking. Please note that change fees and cancellation fees imposed by third-party suppliers, such as airlines and hotels, as well as travel insurance, are not refundable. Refunds will be processed back to the original form of payment. Standard cancellation policies and terms and conditions apply for any cancellation or modification requests received on or after October 12, 2022.

You don't have to wait to turn 5 to get vaccinated.
