Hi all,

Just curious what you pay to color your hair where you live and what you get done. I live in the NYC area and pay $160 for roots, toner, a blowout, and conditioning treatment. Some salons are cost well over $300 to $400 depending on what you get done. A gel manicure in my area cost about $30. Thought it would be interesting to see how it varies.

I live north of Boston and I pay $140 for cut, roots, highlights and blow-dry. I know prices for comparable services in Boston are definitely much higher.

No idea about manicures, I don't get those done.

My highlights are around $230, cut $75 (2 different people), gel is around $30, 10 miles west of nyc. Cuts range from $70 - $90 I believe.

I have strategically scheduled appointments around the holidays, just got my hair done a few weeks ago and won’t go again until February. ETA my 19 year old has an appointment for 12/23, I guess I’ll send her with extra.

I pay $11.94 because I buy John Frieda, and it's a little more expensive than some of the others. But I like the foam application and it's so much less messy than others. Mine would probably be mostly gray, but I am not letting it get that far, so I can't tell you what it would look like, lol

I stopped coloring my hair a few years ago, but before that I mostly did it at home.

The few times at a salon I think it was about $150.

I pay about $140 for a short cut, base color, highlights, blow dry (which with my hair takes about 2 minutes). I live just outside of Washington DC in a suburb. I've been with my stylist for like 20 years so I think I get a special rate with her. Other stylists charge around $200-ish for the same services. If you get closer to DC it's not unusual to be $300 for that.

$180 plus tip for cut and color in Oregon. My daughter does hair so I’m glad people are willing to pay well . She works near the college campus and I’m always astonished by how much college students can spend on their hair.

I won't bleach my own hair either.
