This is how they are replacing Splash Mountain, really???

If this is improper to share, please close and delete thread.

Feeling aside regarding Splash Mountain Vs Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, this sounds awful. You are telling me this is the best Disney could come up with for one of their high ranking IPs. A freaking “ingredient chase” story line. I can’t believe how bad this sounds.

I had some hopes for this ride. This sounds like generic unimaginative short cuts.

I don't know, I'm fine with it. Food is really the central theme of the entire movie. I had hoped maybe it would involve the Shadow Man (would have been really cool just before the drop), but since he's dead and this takes place after the events of the movie, I guess that doesn't really work.

I will miss Splash, but seeing as I have only gone twice in my life my attachment to the ride is not as strong as others are.
That being said I am ok with what is shared and I am also refreshed to see how quickly Disney is moving. If that makes sense.

I think what has been shared so far sounds kind of lame but I want to hold off full judgement until the ride is open and I can ride it.

I said this in another thread but the fact that OLC (operators of Tokyo Disneyland) were shown the plans for the retheme to change their Splash Mountain and they said no does worry me a little bit about the final result.

The commentary surrounding Splash here in the States also doesn’t have necessarily the same weight in Japan. That and Tiana doesn’t have the same popularity.

I don’t really have much to say on what’s been released so far as it’s just the queue backstory and not fully what is experienced on the attraction.

I echo a lot of the comments. When you really look at it, most rides don't have a strong story element or even a coherent one. Usually much more about the environment and the ambience the scenery creates. I pray Disney gives up face projections and brings back more physical elements. 🙏

Don’t really care about the story. What’s going to be really sad is when they replace the 60? 70? 80? Animatronics currently in splash mountain with just 5 or so new ones and the rest with digital projectors.

I could actually see them reusing a lot of what is there, which would also be a way to cheapen the redesign, but I wouldn't be mad about it. I'm sure a lot of people would be though.

Some of the scenes/animatronics would actually work very well like the riverboat and the alligator band (which the guy in the article mentioned and seemed irritated about).

Hoping the ride turns out better than the pre-view. I suspect they are leaving out a lot. Still not sure how a story in New Orleans fits inside a mountain.
Based on the movie, was still really hoping for a restaurant with it.

Not sure how legit it is, but I saw a rumor they were going to retheme Pecos Bills.

Well, it may seem like a lazy excuse, but they are making it a "salt dome" not a mountain.
