What time do you eat breakfast on sea days?

I'm just trying to gauge when people start getting up and about on sea days. What time do you find yourself sitting down for breakfast? When will Cabanas be busy?

We usually eat around 7:30am. Breakfast ends at 10:45am so arrive no later than 10am if you prefer a later time. I find anything after 8:30am is very busy on sea days.

I don’t really like cabanas. I get a latte at the cove with a croissant when I wake upusually between 7 and 730. Then I work out and get a banana and orange from the fitness center. I go to cabanas to get my husband some milk, usually around 830. There always seem to be tables around then.

If you want MDR for breakfast most of those open around 8 am - and generally have tables available.

Cabanas is usually not crowded too much until 8:30 - usually at first open they only open one side of cabanas for serving food and then open the other side later.

It is pretty busy 8:30-10 am most sea days - then dies down between 10
And closing time.

There is always room service as well!

You can’t go wrong either way!

I wake up earlier than the rest of my family, so usually around 7. It's usually pretty empty. Went one time right after it opened and there were only a few people besides myself. My dh and dd usually get up and go around 9. I've gone with them a few times for coffee and to talk about what we're going to do and it's always been really busy. You can still find a table, but definitely lines at the food stations.

Can you tell me more about the croissants: are they flaky and crispy or soft and squishy? 😆

We typically have breakfast on sea days around 8:30 but we also usually go to the sit down restaurant rather than Cabanas. We usually only go to Cabanas when we have a schedule to meet because you can eat fast and aren't dependent on servers.

I think we will try the sit down restaurant as well, I'm not the biggest buffet fan, but my dh and dd might overrule me!

What we liked about MDR for breakfast was that you could order pretty much the same as you might get from the buffet (although I don't know about the pineapple/mango/papaya yoghurt - that was my favourite!) while taking as much time as you wanted, a quieter experience, somebody coming and filling up your juice and coffee multiple times without getting up. We had a couple of dishes or sides that we shared amongst multiple people at the table like bacon, fruit, the chorizo/egg/potato hash (which I then had myself every day afterwards with made-to-order poached egg), and we often had made-to-order omelettes with sides. I never did manage to get the french toast or waffles or pancakes which all looked good too (and which come much hotter and fresher than from the buffet) because I was stuffed but one of my friends did and it smelled sooo good.

It seemed like there was much more selection than I remember from prior cruises in the MDR for breakfast and I don't think we'll be back to the buffet as long as it remains.

That sounds great! It's nice to be served the drinks. With a 5 year old it always feels like you're up and down so many times getting drinks and food and more drinks and then she needs to pee... Haha

This is why we frequently do MDR too although DS is older now so less of an issue, but too hard for me in previous years to solo manage food and drinks and a small child at Cabanas.

My husband is at work by 6am - he's an engineer by trade and works first shift in a factory - so for him "sleeping in" is still early! We usually have breakfast before 8am even on sea days, which is like a normal day for me. I know its vacation, but we only sail every other year or so. We don't want to sleep even a sea day away.
