DCL ship Bluetooth speaker now available for pre-purchase

Today I noticed the following item available for pre-purchase on our October Dream cruise. It’s not the 25th anniversary edition (we were fortunately able to get one of those on our recent Fantasy cruise), but it’s still pretty cool. I’d guess they’ll sell a lot of them if people know they’re available.

The 25th Anniversary one is available, if you have a 25th Anniversary sailing. Otherwise it's the 'plain' one.

My question is: how many of these does one see in the pools or hot tubs at one time? Is there a lot of competing soundtracks happening? I'd love to buy one, but I'm not sure I'd use it during my cruise if there are many others (literally) floating around. lol

Yup. The cool factor is there. But that type of speaker is often given away for free by companies as a promo item. I have two from my former employer..

That is very subjective. Can't be any worse than the folks that use their cell phone for their music.

Agreed on the subjective comment - but for $120 it would be nice if there was at least a hint of bass - otherwise it’s just a cute prop

We have the 25th anniversary one and love it. It stays in our kitchen most of the time to listen to music. It actually sounds pretty great. We have had it in the pool also and it is fun.

I wonder why they don't do more cruise specific merch this way? I would buy so many thing if I could prepurchase rather than trying to deal with the first night crowds.

Agreed, I think that would help with managing crowds and expectations. I was super sad to hear it was sold out for my sailing Hopefully they kept some stock back for onboard purchases.

How far in advance of your cruise can you purchase it? Do you have to be paid in full to make a pre-cruise purchase?

I just bought one for my Wish Cruise in October. The page I was on said it would only be available for purchase up to October 17th. I am paid in full, so I can't answer that question.
