It is so much fun! I did not go onto ships originally as a performer. I auditioned again while I was onboard in another role.
Yes I am friends with a few characters! But tend to hang out with the same ones most of the time.
I can sing yes, but that is not part of my role. Onboard, the character performers are used as ensemble/dancers in the theater shows.
Please let me know if your daughter has any questions! Tell her to keep believing in her dreams, and they will be sure to come true

I'm Dodger and I just love meeting characters at the Disney Parks and I do dream of someday returning to the parks to meet the new characters. Right now I'm obsessed with Marvel characters and I do wish to meet Star Lord and get his autograph and meet with him someday but that won't be for a little while at least. So i'm asking you if you ever get a chance to see Star Lord would you tell him that Dodger would like to send him a hello and see if you can tell him about me when you do talk to him. It must be so cool to be a character performer because it sounds like fun

How long is a typical work day? If a character is in one of the stage shows, is it the same one that does the meet and greets?

It really depends on the day and what other things we are doing (safety drills, greeting, rehearsals etc). If the character (face) onstage is singing (eg: Ariel in the little mermaid) then no it is not the performer from the meet and greets. Usually the fur characters are the same though

Are there other ways of showing appreciation for the characters apart from saying thank you and name dropping on the feedback form?

The princesses are my daughter’s heroes and ALL she ever talks about at home, but when she finally meets them she gets soooo starstruck and freezes, sometimes to the extent of not being able to look them in the eyes. The princesses on the Wonder right now have been so kind and patient with her. I’m amazed at how much they can say to shy children. A few of the vids I captured are 3+min long! I don’t know if some of the CM’s think they’re just doing their job but it really does mean a whole lot to families. Thank you for creating magic!

She is an old friend of mine. We haven’t hung out together for ages though. She was my very first DCL Princess friend

She just turned 4! Hopefully next time she’ll be brave enough to respond more than just 1 or 2 words. She said her heart went “boom boom boom” whenever she met princesses lol.

Rapunzel on the Wonder right now really made an impact on her. Belle and Moana, too (I love watching her dance on stage!). Minnie and Mickey were awesome as well. Would you happen to know if the same cast will still be on the Wonder on the March 2024 Vancouver to San Diego sailing? She’d love to make some thank you cards and personally hand it to them.

I love this! I was actually talking to my Mom about who all your friends might be and she was one of them!

Also, just wanted to say that I really appreciate your interaction on this forum. I’m going through a sad time and you’ve been an excellent distraction to keep my mind off it.
