Tantalizing Holiday Kitchens and a Decadent Cookie Stroll Highlight Seasonal Flavors

What’s a holiday without feasting? If tucking into delicious goodies is your favorite way to celebrate, then you’ve come to the right place. More than 15 Holiday Kitchens will entice your palate with treasured dishes that celebrate a panoply of global holiday cheer. While we can promise you that there will be plenty of returning favorites like Slow Roasted Turkey with Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and Cranberry Sauce, there are also scrumptious surprises in store. Keep an eye out for all the jolly details coming soon in the Disney Eats Foodie Guide.

Remember to save room for the delectable Holiday Cookie Stroll! There’s nothing better than exploring the sights and sounds of the festival with a sweet treat in hand. My family loves to try them all, and I know you will, too. Purchase five cookies from any of the official cookie stroll locations and collect the matching stamp for each cookie to add to your festival passport. Once you’ve collected five stamps, bring the stamped passport to the Holiday Sweet & Treats Holiday Kitchen and receive a specialty cookie. Since you can complete the stroll at your leisure through December 30, it’s the perfect activity to enjoy with family and friends every time you visit the festival.

Olaf’s Holiday Tradition Expedition Scavenger Hunt

Do you want to join a snowman? Set off on an adventure with Olaf for his Holiday Traditions Expedition Scavenger Hunt, a fun way to explore World Showcase. Just purchase your map and stickers from select festival merchandise locations and seek out the “tradition” that Olaf has found in each pavilion. Whether or not you complete the quest, you can redeem your map at Creations Shop, Disney Traders or World Traveler at International Gateway for a special festival holiday keepsake.*

Festival Merchandise to Remember Magical Moments

Finding the perfect keepsake – or holiday present – is half the fun when visiting EPCOT, and a sparkling new collection has something for everyone on your list (including you).

I don't care about the Candlelight Processional in any way, shape or form but if I had plans to be in Florida around December 12-14 I would've 100% went just to see Brendan Fraser.

First look at the new Luminous mini-barges deployed in World Showcase lagoon

IMG_2500.jpegIMG_2501.jpegIMG_2502.jpegIMG_2503.jpeg

Crews working on EPCOT's new nighttime spectacular Luminous have begun testing the new mini-barges in World Showcase lagoon.

These new show platforms are unique in that they are brought out into the lagoon daily, docked inside each of the six large barges. Once the large bargees are anchored, the four mini-barges are pulled out of each large barge by boat and docked into position on the recently installed pilings in the lagoon.

At least 24 of these mini-barges will be deployed around World Showcase lagoon, allowing show designers to position effects in a wide area across the water and quite close to guests watching from the promenade. Luminous will have more than 30 floating platforms to deliver fireworks, lighting, and fountains.

We're just talking about this in our google chat with the DISer friends and one of my friends local to Orlando is extremely ecstatic about him. It'd be so neat to see him in person right there, I'll settle for videos if I have to though :upsidedow

Disney Eats: New Dishes Coming to 3 Popular Disney Resort Hotel Spots on Oct.

As I mentioned, there are three – yes, three – new plant-based offerings that simply cannot be missed. The Macaroni and ‘Cheese’ Bites are “cheesy” bites of goodness paired with tomato and peppers. This is one starter you’ll definitely want to order. The Vegetable Burger with ‘Cheese’ is a fantastic plant-based option. It’s topped with a spicy slaw, pepper jack ‘cheese’, lettuce, and tomato. Lastly, we’ve got the Multigrain Salad with Tofu. This delicious new addition combines mixed greens, wild rice, bell peppers, and sesame vinaigrette. It’s also available with chicken, steak, or salmon if you’d like.
Looking forward to these plant=based options. I know GP is loved by so many, but I found it difficult to find stuff for me.

I was hoping one of this year's celebrity narrators would be an Italian sandwich.

Just playing the hits here.

New Wine Cart Arrives at the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT

IMG_2504.jpeg

A new, themed wine cart has replaced a rather standard outdoor vending cart at the Italy Pavilion in EPCOT. The new cart arrived recently and creates a themed area to grab some wine while strolling through World Showcase, while providing a nice bit of shade for Cast Members working the location. The theming also makes the location fit more and look less like a temporary spot.

I'm bummed, I'll miss him by a week. Looks like Ann-Margret or John Stamos for me on my EPCOT days.

John Stamos isn't bad. I like Ann-Margret too; lots of Disney history there.

They do. John Stamos :rotfl2:

I like this idea but wonder are the portions small like during food and wine festival?

Question for the hive-mind:

I have a friend who got discounted one-day-per-park tickets, and wants to upgrade to AP when they arrive.

I know that in the old days, you could just pay the difference between current one-park tickets and APs and be done with it. But SOMETHING in the back of my mind remembers SOMETHING about that not working anymore...
Does anyone have current rules on updating tickets that were bought from third party at a discount?

Oh man, it's NPH on our Epcot evening. Do I have to suck it up and do the dining package? It's a quick trip, only a couple of park days to hit the holiday highlights, so I don't want to spend hours in line to see the processional.

People wait for several hours w/o the dining package for him. People wait for a couple of hours for him when they have the dining package. If you want to do NPH with the least amount of time/hassle, then do the dining package. You may not get a close up seat if you aren't willing to wait for a while, but at least you will get in..

Starting tomorrow, Oct. 6, Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at EPCOT will soft open on select days and hours through Oct. 15, according to Walt Disney World.

During the soft open opportunities, Disney says a virtual queue may be available to join after guests enter EPCOT at 9 a.m. until it reaches capacity or is no longer being used for that day. You can join the virtual queue in the My Disney Experience app.
