Flight of Passage + People of Size = Disappointing

Just back from a 12 day trip. I was on FOP three times. I was nervous. I'm 5'7'', 240, 19 in calves. I do not carry my weight in my stomach, more all over. First time I got on the ride, I squished as far forward to help make sure I fit. I locked in automatically, I did not need an extra push and I never even felt the leg restraints. It was a snug fit, tho. Second and third times I rode, I didn't move as close forward, which made for a more comfortable and not so snug.

We got back on the 11th. Unfortunately I didn't get to ride because it was down over 3 hours the day we were there. My son waited out the down time by planting himself on a rock directly next to the test seat. I gave up and headed back to the hotel. Anyway, I did try out the test seat and I was in the green. For reference, I'm 5'3'', 244#s with 18.5 inch calves and 53" around my hips. I wear size 20 clothes. I definitely felt the calf restraints. Not uncomfortable, but not much room for movement either. We go back next month. I have 3 fastpasses so I will definitely give it a try.
Just a follow up. I returned with my son for a three night trip. I just got off FOP. I fit with no issues; no assistance needed from CMs. It was snug but I think next time I won't slide as far forward as I did. This is the last day of our trip and it's pretty hot so I'm sure my calves are a tad bigger than 18.5 inches. I notice a bit of swelling in my ankles but it didn't make a difference as far as riding. We have our big 10 day trip in two weeks with 3 fastpasses. The nervousness is gone and I'm looking forward to that trip more than ever. One last thing, there were many pooh sized people boarding and none had to exit the ride.

We rode it last week and a tall gentleman couldn't fit. I was joking about his size 15 shoes but he keep saying he had his feet pushed in as far as they would go so I think his feet were part of the problem.

Hey there! 6'4" 335 llb and rather big in hips and legs. I squeezed myself in. Cast member had me sit up tall and arch my back. Gave it more "click" and said you're good to go. I had my doubts, but had a big sigh of relief and enjoyed every moment. Hope this helps!

I rode it today and was a bit concerned but I fit...not sure if it was a close call or not. They did not have to "work with me" but it was definitely snug. For reference..I'm mostly hip, thigh, butt. Size 22-24 bottoms at lane Bryant. 5'6". Luckily for me, "width" side to side doesn't appear to be the issue, it's more front to back size.
In our group of 16, I saw one poor man get escorted out. He wasn't unusually tall but did have a belly. I feel like the people that will have problems are the ones with a "firm" large belly versus the squishy type, if that makes sense.
I also saw a poor couple out front doing something with their fast passes and the girl was crying. I got the impression they tried and had to get off so they were switching passes for them or such. I felt bad for her.

Just back - thought I would provide another data point as of 6/6. I'm 5"2 and just under 300lbs, busty, lift weights so have fairly muscular calves + circulation issue in my left leg so it is larger than my right. I FIT! Back restraint was no issue - even though I'm short my chest was well above the front support, and I wasn't even aware of the back restraint really. Right leg had no issues - didn't even feel the restraint. Cast member did come over to me and maybe gently pushed the left restraint? I did follow some suggestions from here - scootched all the way forward, went up on tip toe so that it hit lower on my calf (not the thickest part).

I didn't see the tester seat (it was at night and my teenager was hustling us into the line because it was record-breaking short due to all the rain that day), and I wasn't that worried about it - I would have stood in line with my kid anyway, then just bowed out at the end if I didn't fit. I warned her that I might not be able to ride, so she wouldn't be surprised if I had to leave the room. As it turns out, if I hadn't fit the "walk of shame" would not have actually been that bad - only 16 people per room and the rest of the line can't see you.

Its a great ride! The position wasn't at all awkward, even with my short arms, no pressure on my knees at all. Completely forgot there were any restrains once the ride started.

You pretty much described my body (even down to the left leg being bigger than the right!) except I'm 5'0". I didn't think I even had a shot of fitting until I got to your post. You just gave me hope!

Thank you for the write up, it is a great help to me.

Thanks for this. I'm 6'7" and a similar weight, starting to really believe I'll be able to ride it.[/QUOTE
Have you been on your trip and tried the ride? I'm a similar size as well (6/7and wondering how you made out.

Have you been on your trip yet and tried Flight of Passage?
Just wondering because I am a similar size: 6'7", size 15 shoe, big calves, 275 lbs...somewhat slim...all weight is in my legs.

I'm 5'10" 325lb male. 46-48 inch waist depending on brand. I was very borderline for the test seat but got very comfortably on the ride. Best advice I can give is to slide your hips as far forward as you can and sit up straight to the point of arching your back.

5'2 255# carry most my weight in my mid section (Apple shape) rode it last night AND today fit no problem. I made sure to kind of arch back at first and wiggle my pelvis in there but the seat clicked fine on its own.

I agree with a previous poster. The test seat is humiliating where it's located. Reason why we got to ride twice is there was no CM to work the test seat. The CM working the standby line called and called for someone and no-one would come so he went ahead and let myself and my 2 daughter's on fp line bc he didn't want me to wait 2+ hours and not fit. Not only did I fit he gave us fp to use on 2 more attractions at any park bc we waited 45 mins for the test seat and no-one would come. We used one to ride again today!

I'm a pear shape, Thinner in the waist and all butt, hips, thighs and calves. My calves are 19.5 in and 20 in. The cast member helped lock my leg restraints. Once she did it was fine. Felt the movement and breath of the banshee. A little embarrassed to have needed the help, but happy to have had it.

Hope this helps!

Still a work in progress,

Rachael

Thank you both so much for a recent update on fitting regarding the ride. I don't really know what fruit shape I am classed as but have big hips so is nice to know that you both for fine and gives me hope

My DS19 is 6'5", 220lbs and wears a size 15 shoes. He had no problem fitting at all. We were very worried about his height and shoe size before we went a couple weeks ago. It helped that he is extremely flexible and slender from years of hockey.

Can someone be more specific in a Pooh sized body for me? My husband and I are kind of large in the mid section. Rather short and robust, which fits into the pooh category I guess, but was looking more for a weight or measurement I guess???
This thread is full of people who have bravely given their exact weight, height, measurements and body shape. You will find many specifics if you read through it.
