How do you call for a Minnie Van ride?

I don't believe I've seen any reports yet. The current taxi/Uber/Lyft drop off spot is the old bus stop. I bet that's where they'll use. I can't imagine they'll send the cars to the existing bus stop since that's so crowded but they could. I'm sure that info will be included in the documentation when the service officially begins
Uber & Lyft pick up & drop off at both the old Marketplace bus stop and in the Strawberry lot. Taxis pick up and drop off in the Strawberry lot, and also pick up at the Marketplace valet area; they also drop off at the Marketplace, but I don't know whether it's at the valet stand or the old bus stop.

Ah ok. I guess all the drives we've gotten just used the Marketplace spot. That's where they've always taken us ever since the Disney bus stop moved at least. Never even asked about the other lot. I thought that one was no longer used once the Disney buses moved. I'll remember in case we want the other end of DS

Thank you!

If anyone wants to see what a lot of Minnie Vans in one place look like, it appears their base is on the east edge of the Strawberry lot at DS. I saw at least 20 of them all parked there yesterday, including a couple of real vans.

I've heard a few mentions of lyft being used to reserve a van. Is that confirmed and is that the only way? Can I ask the resort valet desk for a van?

Does anyone know if they will be "waiting for a fare" at resorts when not in use, similar to how the Mears cabs operate now? so its possible to just grab one at the main entrance.

Will they be "lined up" at park closing for the rush or will you still need to call for one?

Looks like MK dropoff is bus stop 11. would they pick up there too?

They have confirmed that they will use the Lyft app when the service is rolled out. That's it
The rest is not known just yet.
The rest of your questions will have to wait till they actually start the service and provide the details

Yeah I got that bit I just wondered if there was any more information on the price for your whole stay I had previously heard about.
I believe you're thinking about the Express Transportation, park to park buses. That service can be booked by the day or by the week. But, the Minnie Vans are not booked like that. They are the same as a cab...pay per use.

I am curious how the payment will go, maybe someone posted it but I didn't see it. Do they scan your magic band for the 20 bucks? Do you need to pay cash? Or is it tied to your credit card like uber? Think we will give this a try when we arrive on Saturday for dinner at O'hana.

Since it's requested via the Lyft app it's going to use whatever you have as paying in the Lyft app

If your going to do that why not have them take you to your resort unless of course your staying off site.

If you were staying off site and parked in the MK lot, would they take you to your car? Just curious . . . .

We don't know for sure yet but I'm going to say no. It's not going to go from the MK bus stop to the TTC parking lot. That would just not make any sense at all. I stand to be wrong but would be quite shocked if they did that.
I believe they will go park to park, resort to resort and park to resort. Thinking of DS as a "park" for sake of categorizing it somewhere.

Isn't this supposed to start today? Any one have updates?
I'm not 100% certain the date was an official one put out by Disney. But, I could be wrong too. Maybe it was. I looked for something official and never did find a full fledged press release with an official launch date.
I remember seeing one, and I think several reposts of that one, blogger throw out a date. Never did see a source for it.
I do hope it's soon. I want to use it at least once next month, just to say I rode in it. It's just too cute!

I'll be happy if it's available to go to bon voyage breakfast. I know the reports said rolling out to Epcot resorts first. I hope that means anyone traveling to or from Epcot resorts, and not staying at Epcot resorts.

I drive for Uber and Lyft. I can't tell you how many times people have jumped in my car and don't understand how it works. Sometimes they want to hand me their credit card or their phone and tell me to make it happen. I'm sure this kind of thing is going to be VERY common as people become frustrated with the complimentary transportation and hop in a MinnieVan not knowing how it works. I'm guessing these cast members will be dealing with many guests who can't fathom why they can't use MDE, a MagicBand, room charge, cash or card. I understand what they are doing, but many people will not.

How strange. How on earth can someone set up the app and not know how it works? I never used a taxi in all my 50+ years, and never used Lyft or Uber, before I used Lyft and Uber at Disney, but I saw how it worked. The app explains it all

I'm mainly talking about walkups at events or busy locations. People hop in uber/lyft all the time without apps, apps with expired credit cards and cash. For MinnieVans, I'm sure people will be hopping in all the time or walking up to them and be shocked when a Disney employee in a Disney vehicle DARES to tell them they can't get ride without an app they may not even be aware of.

Ah, ok. Makes sense now.

It's very common for Uber and Lyft to partner with organizations and events to offer free rides or ride credits using special promotional codes, especially for new users. It's quite possible that Disney has made some sort of arrangement whereas new and possibly existing Lyft users get certain codes to try the service.
