I'm renting from Walker and they say their ecvs can handle some rain. What specifically do you use to protect your ecv from the rain? I'm going in September and expect afternoon rain everyday.

Some use a shower cap over the tiller. Make sure if you use a poncho that it's not too long and gets caught. You need to make sure it's even all the way around.

make sure your poncho covers both you and the back of seat so water does not run down to seat area. make sure you put shower cap over the tiller. cover the seat with poncho anytime you park outside and chance of rain. nothing worse than wet seat

Walker scooters are really good in the rain. Just cover the tiller with the little shower cap. There are a number of places to hid out in a storm. Any of the shows let scooter riders bring their "ride" inside. The attractions at EPCOT are all very scooter friendly. Don't worry about the rain too much and have fun.

Ok so we will be going in September and renting a scooter can someone please tell me what a tiller is so I put my shower cap on the correct thing ? I am assuming it's the electronic panel that has the key and buttons . We all know what happens when you assume.

You are correct.

You need to cover the steering "wheel" or tiller. That is where you place the key, and where the controls are located.

If you are renting for the first time, you can arrange to meet them when the scooter is dropped off. The delivery folks will take time to acquaint you with the scooter and you can chat with them about your concerns. We have been renting from Walker since 2006 and love them. As others have said, there is a "shower cap" for the tiller (where the key is inserted). This is supplied by Walker and is stored in a small bag which attaches to one of the handles.
The one thing I will recommend if you are going to be in the rain - have a cheap hat or cap with a bill (one that you won't mind getting wet). The poncho will not keep the rain off your face and you can't really hold an umbrella while you are driving. If you have to leave the scooter out (going in to a restaurant or ride), put the seat back down, cover and secure the cover if possible. Nothing worse than coming out of your nice meal to a squishy seat because it rained while you were inside

We purchased some of the stronger "use more than once" plastic shower caps from Walmart to have for the one we rent.
