Where to stay close to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks?

I was thinking of staying here for a night, maybe just to hang out at disney springs..... is it pretty nice? How far to walk over the the Springs?

It's about a 15 minute walk to DS from the HI, you pass the Hilton and then you walk across the pedestrian bridge to DS. It's very convenient. Although the DS hotels are all walkable some of them are much further. HI, Hilton, Buena Vista Palace & Wyndam are closest. Yes, HI is nice (it has an atrium set-up). If you're a "light" sleeper though request the "tower" as some of the rooms are close to I-4 and they can be really noisy (we made that mistake once but they moved us the next night and we're great about it-so since we always book a tower room and request a high floor facing Hotel Royal Plaza Blvd or DS.)

My advice is if you are not staying on site, you need a car or utilize Uber. I would never trust offsite shuttles because they are going to be SLOW...and I never thought anything could be slower than Disney transportation. Think of all of those stops the shuttles have to make. I would rather put glowing hot iron in my eyes.

Your budget will dictate what advice to offer. You are outside US so your discounts and prices are drastically different than what we can see. I would never recommend a Disney suite because they are outrageous. I would recommend 2 adjoining rooms at a value. That gives you 4 beds, 2 bathrooms, and a decent amount of space. They don't guarantee it, but I have never had an issue. Since you would be going for such a long time, I am sure they could find a way to make it work. This would eliminate the need for outside shuttle.

Hi there,

We are a family of 5 from Melbourne, Australia. We went to WDW & DCL cruise this past January. We did find it overwhelming to begin with and then settled to stay on site at Port Orleans Riverside for 10 days. On arrival again it was overwhelming but that soon disappeared, from the magical express from the airport to the Disney Transport around the Parks/Springs and other resorts can't be beaten. It takes away any anxiety you might suffer when travelling to a new place etc. Disney really does take care of everything for you.

We loved it that much we are already planning our next trip, not that we can afford it.

Best way to look it is, you are already investing that much money, possibly a once in a lifetime trip (For us from OZ anyway), your buying memories that can't be beaten. Spend the little extra and stay on site if you can.

Also if you can budget in the Disney Dining Plan, I highly recommend it. While you definitely pay for it, its paid prior to the trip and again takes away the stress of budgeting while on the trip. The only stress is what to spend your snack credits!!!!

Hey There!!

How difficult was organising the Magical Express? My boyfriend and I are heading to WDW for Christmas (staying AoA and POR woohoo!) and I'm getting a little anxious about booking the Magical Express seeing as because we're from Melbourne too, we won't get luggage tags sent to us and our Magic Bands will be sent to the resort.

Thank you!!! Xx

Hello, we are a family of 5 (children aged 15, 12 & 11) and will be travelling to Orlando from Australia in December 2017 for our first time.

We are overwhelmed by all the accommodation that is offered and we are not sure where to stay. It looks expensive to stay at the Disney Resorts and are looking to stay off site. We will not have a car and will rely on shuttles to and from the hotel to go to the Disney World Theme Parks. We would also like to be walking distance to restaurants and if possible a supermarket.

Thank You.
Hi have you looked at the values like Art of Animation Pop etc?

Have you considered renting disney vacation club points for a 1 ow 2 bdrm, with a full kitchen. David's point rentals is very easy, although it may be getting a little late for December. Lots of room for everyone, onsite and usually better than two rooms cost wise.

Weve stayed both onsite and off site without a car-

We stayed in a suite at art of animation & it was wonderful.
We then moved to Wyndham bonnet creek into a 2 bed condo -I preferred the space and laundry (I'm a saddo)
However I much preferred being onsite and utilising Disney transport.

If you want to stay offsite in a resort-i would recommend emerald island.

I really can't imagine staying in a villa without a car though...
If you hire a car-there are definitely more options available & easier to buy food!
