Member Services Exception

I can’t tell from the OP if that’s actually the case. If he’s asking to bank the points past the banking deadline, that has some chance of getting an exception. If you’re correct and these points have already been banked, then I agree there is zero chance.
Yup....they have already been banked....I know there is probably zero chance but given I would be asking for a two week extension I wasn't sure if there would be any altitude. I hope they approve it so I can come back here and see all the comments that would generate.

I would just plan to go the RCI route if I were you. Best value for the points. I really want you to call, though, just out of curiosity about what would happen.
I will call for sure...when I asked the broker about the points and the fact they were expiring they said they did not factor the points into the price when they listed it. I figure if I can rent the points and apply it toward my dues it essentially gives me another year of free points.

Just hopeful with only two months before expiration that someone will have an interest in the points.

And availability to book. You are looking and low dues time followed by spring break. My fear for you is that all the rooms will be taken by the time you are able to rent out the points.

Good point....availability could be key here. Another poster said I should be okay with Old Key West or Saratoga Springs but given it is Spring Break and run up to Easter that could make things kind of iffy.

Run up to Easter? Easter is April 1st.

Yes....the points expire March 31, 2018. Easter is April 1st. Looking to rent points that I will have in hand in late January and must be used by March 31....does that not meet the definition of run up to Easter?

Ah, I thought you were talking about availability to book your mid-April trip with these points.

Just an FYI-I had a similar situation where we bought a BLT contract in late 2016 that had banked 2015 points expiring Feb 1st 2017. As availability was limited I inquired with member services about if it would be possible to book a trip that started in Jan and ended in Feb (like Feb 2nd or 3rd). They said that there was no way to extend the points beyond the Jan 31st use date. I did find availability for mid Jan so it worked out ok for me. So I wouldn’t get your hopes up (if they wouldn’t extend them 1-2 days) but it doesn’t hurt to ask.

Thanks for the feedback. I am totally expecting the answer to be NO. I am preparing for a rental if the points if there is availability. To add to the complication the seller took one week to sign the docs when we agreed on price so assuming Disney does not exercise ROFR I am not completely convinced they will be in a hurry to sign closing docs.

As other have said, having points banked a 2nd time is not something they do. The other piece is that you mention wanting to be able to use them for a vacation already booked. There would still need to be availability to use them for your current trip, even if they did allow them to be banked. They can't just use them to cover the reservation you currently have.

I can add that I’d tried for an exception too with my BWV purchase. The contract had 2016 points banked to 2017 and I’d would very much like to be able to use those points.

My new contract is for another UY

MS wouldn’t/said no to transfer the points to my other contract and then reallocate points for an upcoming booking.

It took two calls to MS on the second one I spoke to a cast member which worked his magic. He took my upcoming booking from contract 1 and moved it to contract 2. It was more a cancel/rebook thing without the rooms going into free availability as MS was holding them. That used all banked 2016 points and then he unbanked 40ish 2017 points which was banked to 2018 to complete the reservation.

That freed up points on contract 1 which is now banked into 2018.

My point is that MS might not be able to do what you are asking but maybe they can do something else. Also it might take more than 1 call to MS to get the pixi dust.

Worst case scenario you could either rent the points or take an extra vacation.
