My husband and I are planning a trip for our 25th wedding anniversary. We will have the dining plan. If we want to go to a 2 credit restaurant for our anniversary dinner do we use 2 credits that night and pay cash for dinner another night because we will be short a dinner credit? Or is there a way to use 1 dinner credit and pay cash for the rest of the meal.

Probably over thinking this. Thanks Melinda

You use 2 credits and pay cash another time (if you need it). Honestly, in my experience I've never needed extra out of pocket meals when on the DDP even when I have a 2 credit meal in there. It's so much food.

You could, pay all DDP credits one meal, and cash the next (or vice versa). Or, you can even pay for one person with credits and one person with cash at a single meal. I would base it on what you decide to order.

We aren’t arriving to Orlando until 5:40 pm so won’t be using a ts meal that day. That’s why we are able to use 2 when we go to Cinderella’s royal table.

I've never needed to pay OOP when on the DDP and I usually end up going to a signature restaurant that requires 2 TS credits.
Maybe its just based on when I arrive and depart that I have not needed to do so.
I also usually eat breakfast I've brought from home so I only need 2 meals per day vs all 3.
I'd advise using the 2 credits per person and then if you need to pay OOP for another meal vs splitting credits and then finding out you didn't need another meal and you could have avoided paying OOP for anything.

You can't pay for one 2TS meal with 1 credit + cash, but your party of 2 could pay for one meal with 2 credits and OOP for the other meal.

The other option would be to use 4 credits for the 2 meals and pay OOP for another meal that is less expensive. You'd have to do a little research to see if a meal at a 1 TS location is less than 1/2 the cost of your 2 credit meal.

DH and I will be going in September 2018 and will have the Deluxe Dining Plan. We plan four signature restaurants - Morimoto, California Grill, Le Cellier and Jiko. Since we are doing two days at Epcot for the food and wine festival we plan on spending one day eating from the booths and the rest is balanced by making good choices as to when and where our other meals are.

We use the 2 credits and pay cash for the cheapest TS meal. We used to use cash for Via Napoli, because it just worked out best for us.
Happy Anniversary!!! We are celebrating our 25th in July in WDW.

Thank you for all your replies. I think we will use the 4 credits for the signature meal then if we need to buy our meal we can just do qs to save some money.
