Has anyone rented DVC points for an Aulani stay. I was thinking about taking my whole family which would be 5 adults and 2 kids (one is 4 now and another on the way). I was thinking about possibily next year. Ive renting points from David's DVC Rental for WDW and it went well. You do have to pay it all upfront. I looked at the Disney site and it was about $4000 more than David's. I looked at The DVC Rental Store and they were in betweem those two. Suggestions?

I have used David’s twice for Aulani with excellent results.

They were easy to work with and the front desk at Aulani has lots of experience with DVD point rental and we’re great.

This is good to know. I rented DVC points for our first stay at Aulani (through David's). I've never rented DVC points before, but it was 50% cheaper!! I have been trying to do online check-in since our stay is less than 30 days away, but the Aulani site keeps saying server unavailable. I was thinking I may just check-in with the front desk when we get there, but I was worried that the whole DVC rental thing would be confusing!

If you don't get checked in before you arrive, don't worry about it! Aulani (and any DVC property) has no idea whether you're renting or if a member just made a reservation for you - and it really doesn't matter. The staff doesn't know the source of the reservation (beyond DVC vs. normal cash) and really doesn't care - beyond a "Welcome home!".

Check-in is no more complicated than normal, and in fact is pretty much exactly the same as a cash reservation - except you're only putting down your CC information for incidentals and charging, not to pay for the room.

Aulani only allows online check-in to be completed 10 days prior to your check-in date :)

This is all so helpful. I was looking today on the rent/trade forum here on this website, pretty awesome!
