Hi need your advice please, which would you choose? We are looking to fly premium economy outward and economy for the return journey. Was edging towards Virgin but BA is cheaper. cant find any you tube clips to look at BA's seats, virgins are in two's which appeals to me, but have read that BA do the better food. so confused. Maybe we should stay in economy and pay to pick a front row seat. what do you guys think.
hope this makes sense :)

I have always gone with virgin partly because of the (then) downtown Disney and now Disney springs check in. This time I booked the whole trip with virgin as due to the sale got Pop Century refereed room and premium economy flights there and back for the same price as non preferred room and economy separate. Plus because I am with virgin holidays I get the Disney springs check in free.

It would depend on how much cheaper BA is?

If it was a considerable amount I'd book with them. I've never flown with them only Virgin so can't offer any advice.

Disney sprigs check in is a big bonus though, even if you have to pay for it. ( it was included in my package too)

Would go with BA if much cheaper. If not much difference, then would choose Virgin and try and get in the bubble if the right type of plane! We only fly economy though and want seats in 3's!

thanks guys, anyone know how I can look at BA seat configurations ?

I used BA for the first time for Seattle last year and have used Virgin loads. There is barely any difference between the two so I would go for the best price. I felt there was a tiny bit more leg room with BA (economy) but they charged for afternoon snacks which virgin don’t (which upset me!).

We also flew with them last year and didn't have to pay extra but did for snacks.

Thanks for all your advise guys we have ended up booking BA economy and booking our seats as we wanted a 2 row at the back

Hi, Just noticed I've posted almost the same thread as you but the other way round - economy going and premium economy home.
Can I just ask how much cheaper the BA flights were?
:thanks:

We've been with Virgin for the last 10 years. This year, a flight into Atlanta and out of MCO was over 2k cheaper on BA, Premium both ways. We are looking at others for our August trip because Virgin prices are starting to become ridiculous.

We used Virgin last time and booked with BA this time because it was cheaper - from what I've heard they are very similar so fingers crossed!

Hi, BA is £1682 for premium both ways or £1256 for economy there premium return

compared to Virgin £2152 premium both ways or economy there and premium economy return £1726

Theses prices are based on our hol time November 25 (Sunday) 7th December (Friday)
hope that helps.

Thanks Cal2. I managed to get VA for £998 (2 adults) using our airmiles :sunny: Economy going and PE coming home from Manchester. Thats Friday 30th Nov til Sat 15th Dec. I've paid £70 extra for the 2 of us to sit in the "bubble" on the way there so can't wait now :yay:

that's great news, its cheaper than we paid for economy both ways plus BA charge £52 pp each way to book seats.

We will be there when you are, you never know we may be on a ride together an not know it.:D

You never know :-)
I'm guessing we'll be in one of the WDW parks for Eve's bd (8th Dec) so might well see you then ;-)

So booked BA way back for our August holiday. Was just checking something and saw that they’ve changed our seats on the return. When I looked the seats we had previously reserved (at the back of the plane) now longer exist. How can seats disappear? I’m wondering if they’ve changed the type of plane so it’s a smaller one? We’re flying from Gatwick to MCO. Anyone know if BA have changed planes ?

Dont talk to me about seat changes lol,(now about to do a post on it) 4 phone calls to BA today :sad2:.
I hope not we also booked back seats on return journey. I did notice today that they now flying from south terminal instead of north as they did in 2016, could that have anything to do with it?(as in change of plane) if that's whats happened. Also if you paid to book your seats they should give you a refund.

They’ve moved us into seats that were the same price so I’m ok with that. They’ve already changed the time of the flight but only slightly so we can live with that. I’m a real fussy flyer so changes do nothing for my nerves

I'm the same unless its me making the changes it really unsettles me. On our 2011 trip on the return as we were booking in they asked us to go on an earlier flight, to some that would be great less waiting at the airport. I just couldn't do it, it wasn't the flight I had booked and didn't want to change. Totally unreasonable I know, but just couldn't.
We booked the back row so we can recline our seats the whole flight and not bother anyone so I really hope they don't do the same to us.
