My chat agent said they likely wouldn't release any offers on weekends, so i guess I can stop obsessing for 48 hours. So that I can be disappointed when they don't release offers on a national holiday monday. Blurg.

Thanks for the info. I am going to try to stop obsessing as well. I thought Thursday was going to be the day and have been trying every hour since yesterday morning. Luckily I have things to do all weekend so maybe just once a day. Or twice. haha.

I do not trust chat CMs, so I will still casually check, as I am completely insane! She did say an email would be going out soon to announce the offers. I have a bottle of champagne I bought for New Years, then my husband fell asleep at 10, so I’ve been waiting until I get an acceptable discount to open it. I’m tempted to just drown my sorrows in mid day champagne. Lol.

We haven't had an AP in years due to work schedules. DH and I have a pkg booked for POFQ for 7 nites later in May 2018. No discounts with it so wondering if it would be worth our while for me to get an AP if there is a room discount offered for POFQ. The 7 day hopper for me is $485 and memory maker is $169 which totals $654. The Platinum AP for me is $779 so if we got a discount on the room and could use it for meal and mdse discounts, is it worth our while for one trip?
If so, would I need to change it to a room only discount?
Apologize if I am unaware how this all works now.....just looking for help....thanks!!

I did this last year. Just call and investigate the discounts and if you find a suitable one, buy the pass over the phone or online before you arrive. You just need the pass when you check in. We are going back 11 months after last year’s trip so it has been a great plan for us. We would have loved to sneak one more trip in, but work and school schedules were tougher than anticipated this year!

There are reports that you just need the AP before you check out of the hotel. So you could book the room at the AP rate (without having an AP), and then buy/upgrade an AP before checking out. Just know they can change your reservation to rack rate if you don't show your AP at check out time.

An AP could very well be a better buy, especially since you are purchasing memory maker. Wait till the AP rates come out, call them and tell them you want an AP room only rate and see how it compares.

Also, another way to save a few bucks is to buy your husbands 7 day hopper through undercover tourist. Real easy to link the tickets they send you by email. Through Disney you would pay $485 + tax with the total being $516.53. With UT, you only pay $485 so you save $31.53. Thats enough for two wonderful Margarita's from La Cava.

The $ you save on the merchandise and food also underated IMO. Most places we ate at gave us 20% off with a few only 10% and my wife got discounts at most stores as well.

My trip is planned for April 2018. I know they were offering 20% discount on almost every restaurant in 2017 for. some sort of anniversary special or something. Was your experience in receiving the 20% discount at restaurants in 2017? I'm debating TiW for this trip and if I can get a 20% discount, I won't bother and just take the 10% associated with the AP.

The 20% dining discount ended, but nearly all disney operated restaurants are offering 10% in 2018.
Also, no discounts yet.

Yes mine was in 2017. I am including this address. Deb's has a great pdf for regular dining discounts.

So last year the AP rates became available on 1/12 and the year before 1/14

So we are now beyond both those. Really should be any day now.

It really should be any day now. Thanks to cheap Frontier flights and a decent rate at Pop I decided to take my husband down for a few days for his birthday, you know, so I can book a bounceback just in case. Lol.
