Age check on 7 Dwarfs

We are party of 6. DH and I, and kids aged 9,6,5,5. We were planning to have each 5 year old twin ride with parents and 9 year old ride with his 6 year old brother. Are they really strict about the 7 year old age minimum to “ride alone”?

Thats very reassuring! And in the same note, will they allow me to ride three across in big thunder or splash just in case?

Big Thunder you will be able to for sure. Splash Mountain I would have to guess no. Guests are seated one in front of the other, not side by side. Have fun!

When my son was younger, we rode 3 across on both Big Thunder, and Splash Mountain, so unless things have changed recently, you should be good there.

The above replies are correct, you are seated side by side on Splash. I always try to seat my wife on the right in case we get stuck by the waterfall! I must have had a senior moment. Sorry for the misinformation.

My very tall (50 inches) 6.75 year old was “7” our last trip. She wanted to be able to ride with her 9 year old sister. No issues. YMMV.

Be prepared, it may depend on the CMs working at that moment. I've seen it go both ways. Even saw a family be asked to step out of the train ... then they were left on the platform when we left because they wouldn't/couldn't make their party work for the youngest to have 14 or older sit with them.

Thank you all for your quick replies. This is more reassuring that we will manage. It’s not my first Disney trip but first with all 4 kids! Haha.
I was mostly concerned about big thunder, 7dwarfs and splash on how we will do searing but it looks like we can all get on in some combination together ...you know, for the groups photo!

I think I've read that the Splash Mountain in DisneyLand is seated the other way about. Perhaps you had that in you mind.

Yes, this is correct. the Disneyland version of splash is single file except for a bench on the back that can fit two people, but only if they are small.

We just rode this yesterday and they let my four and eight year old ride together. they just have to be in the same cart with an adult so one of the adults and one five year old would have to ride in the second row of their cart.

This is true for most rides, but 7DMT is inconsistent with the "same ride vehicle" rule. It seems that usually that doesn't apply, and they won't seat kids under age 7 without someone 14 or older in the same row. Again, this may vary based on CM. There has been a lot of talk about this aspect of 7DMT on the boards.

I agree. 7DMT is not always consistent with enforcement, but it seems like they do generally enforce the seating by row, not by car.

Forgive me, because I am exhausted and have confused myself, but if my kids are 7, 7, and 8 when we go in a few weeks, then any of them could “ride alone” if needed? I put that in quotes because we will post likely all always we there, but we are an odd number.

Anyone 7 and over can ride any ride alone as long as the meet the height requirement. They may be asked their age by a CM.
