Thinking of a quick trip as in leave tonight. Am I crazy?

Airfare is so cheap this week and we're out of school this week so I'm seriously considering booking a short trip. I am a super planner and although I've been many times I've never done it last minute. I'm wondering if I'll just spend my time waiting in lines because I won't have time to do fast passes and we won't stay on site so no early entry. I've only stayed off site once and it was fine but it was also a well planned trip. Any thoughts or advice? It would just be myself and my middle son (he's 18) because the rest of the family has obligations.

I cannot believe I'm going to actually do it. Lol! I'm going to have to rent a car because we'll have to stay off site so that'll be interesting. I'll be thankful for the GPS on my phone. How do you get fp when booking last minute. I've only done it online 60 days out.

It’s not gonna be slow at Disney this week (presidents week / school vacation etc) but you should still be able to have a fun time! There are always plenty of things to do in Disney even when it’s crowded you just have to adapt and want to do them!!

You should still be able to get some good fast passes for the week! Maybe not perfect but good!

How do I book fast passes once I get there? I'm going to get etickets from undercover tourist.

Once you get the tickets, link them to MDE and you can make your FP right away. You may not get exactly what you want, but book what you can. Then on your actual park days, refresh, refresh, refresh to see what pops up. Have fun!!!

REFRESH REFRESH, with only two of you, should be able to do well. If you can't get something try for one of you, once you get try for the other with overlapping times.

Ones you get for later, keep refreshing to roll back time so you can get more. A few weeks ago we got everything at Epcot day of, and it was a busy day. We started with FEA late in day and kept refreshing and changing until we could just walk to it early afternoon.

Do you have a hotel? That would be my biggest fear.
EDIT: OH WOW, I just started looking around at hotels and can't believe some of the really good rates ... so surprised for this week. Wish we had all week off, I'd be in the car.

I did it this past summer at the end of July for a weekend. My daughter wanted to go before leaving for college so we were in WDW within less than 24 hours of her suggesting we go. I was able to get several FastPasses and we had a great time! Go for it!
