FoP Glasses

I'm hoping DS8 will ride FoP with me. But he's an anxious kid and will be super worried if the glasses fall off. Can he hold them with one hand and hold on with Another? Should he just not wear them? Any suggestions would be appreciated so I can prepare him ahead of time. Thanks!

Not wearing them would hurt the experience. He can try holding them but that might not be great either. You're best to just try to wear them as is.

My kids stayed on fine. Mine I had to hold over my glasses. I really wish they would make glasses with glasses wearers in mind. Like bigger to fit over them, maybe goggles instead?

My kids (9 and 6) managed fine, it was me who struggled, maybe because I wear glasses, they just would not come close to staying on my head. I had to use one hand to hold them on which I think detracted from the experience and meant it was all a bit of an anticlimax for me

If the glasses are too loose you can hold them on. You don't have to hold onto the ride handles if you don't want to

I've read parents are using either glasses holders/straps, the silicon tubes you can slip onto glasses, or a sweatband type of headband. For the best experience, don't be struggling to hold them on, or skip them, I'd plan/practice ahead and make sure something works just to get everything out of the ride.

Definitely wear the glasses, even if the child has to hold them on. (I hold them on with one hand. But will try one of the PPs suggestions next trip.)

Thanks all for the suggestions! Will we have time to practice with the glasses while waiting? Is that what the PP meant? I have some headbands they can try, just not sure if they will...boys! I will look into the silicon things too.

You will not get the full experience without the glasses. They should be fine, but as someone mentioned above, its not a bad idea to get silicone holders just to be sure. Or they could hold it with one hand.

You'll have like 2-3 minutes with the glasses in the preshow before you board the ride

I can completely understand why boys wouldn't want to wear headbands lol, but I have to say the headband worked great, it was a much better ride when I wasn't worried about the glasses falling off!

I wear glasses and actually found the FOP glasses to be perfect with glasses.

I normally have some insecurity it terms of something falling off but had none on FOP.

Kudos to the Imagineer who designed them!

Yes, you have a bit of time before actually getting on the ride to see if they need to be held on with something. For boys, if you want a "headband" I'd definitely get like a tennis sweatband headband.

And what I mentioned before is just to have a plan what you are going to do before you get there. So, if you are worried get a headband (or whatever you decide on) at home and use a pair of glasses to show the kids what they/you will need to do to slip the band over the glasses posts to see if the kids will go along with it. lol

My kids ages 13,11,9, & 7 were able to ride with the glasses on and nothing holding them. I tried doing something with my 5 year old but ran out of time. I asked the cast member what to do and he said that most kids just hold them on with one hand while holding on to the bar with the other. It worked out just fine.

You guys all have great advice! I will try to practice with headbands and glasses at home! I don't have any big thick sweat headbands but I do have several black headbands that I wear when I'm exercising. Hopefully they won't mind too much. Of course my 2yo loves to wear them around!
