Space Mountain....underated?

I love it! It blew my mind as a 10 year old, and now riding it 4 times in a row with my 5yo daughter squealing “again! Again!” Is one of my favorite wdw memories ever.

It’s even worth getting those cracked vertebrae over (just kidding, but only slightly!)

I've been to Disney three times, and just tried it on my last trip. It was nice for not having done it before. I wouldn't say it's one of my favorites, but fun enough!

I'd actually say it the most overrated ride at WDW. It's has that "shake you like a ragdoll" syndrome that older metal coasters have as they age, with the added downfall of not being able to see when it's going to shake you like a rag doll and brace yourself. That plus the big draw of the ride can be accomplished on any other coaster by simply closing your eyes.

As a kid in the 80's Space Mountain was IT!!!! Now that I'm almost 50 and there is soooooo many more thrilling and immersive rides at WDW......I still think that SM is up there in the top 5 and it just doesn't seem to get any love anymore. Every time I go, I say....."still one of the best ride experiences"!!! Thoughts?
Trust me you're not the only one, on this..:thumbsup2

I rode it on our visit last year and my wife and I couldn't wait for it to end. Boring, outdated and far too rough. I'll pass on it next trip. Maybe Disney can refurb it with some of the resort parking money!

I wish it was like the one at DisneyLand and could be themed easily - like for Halloween or Star Wars etc!

My cousin lives in So. Cal. and got to ride it when it was Hyperspace Mountain. Now that would be awesome. I had to tattoo Smucker's on my head, I was so jelly!

It was refurb'd a few years ago...It's a ton smoother now, and much darker than it used to be....

Try Matterhorn on for Size?:confused3:scratchin

I can only ride it once per trip. Any more than that and my body will rebel. Way too rough. The one in Disneyland on the other hand is a repeat experience for me.

Space Mountain seems to be love it or hate it. Those that hate it don't like the jerkiness and motion.

I love it. It is probably top 2 for me at MK. BTMRR and Space Mountain.

I LOVE the one at Disneyland. The one at MK is fun, but it's not as awesome as the DLR version.

It's not a bad ride by any means, but I'd say its the worst roller coaster at Disney--Big Thunder, Everest, and Rock n' Roller Coaster are all so much better.

I never ride tSM at MK, but I never miss it at DLR. Smoother, great music, and the special overlays make it sooo much better that Mk's version.

At Disneyland you're sitting in normal seats side by side. No whiplash. Smoother. Fun. Not painful.

WDW's version is more like DL's Matterhorn, which HURTS.
I did it once on our recent visit. I love coasters but this one just hurts anymore. It used to be my favorite ride as a kid. I really enjoyed the one at DL.
