Bringing a 2 year old

My husband and I live in Florida and have annual passes, we are bringing our two year old nephew to Disney for a day next month. Do we need proof that he is two to get him in since he is free? Also, since we don't have a hotel room to go back to for him to nap, does anyone have suggestions for this? We have never been to Disney with a kid before and are very excited to see it through his eyes but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

You don't need proof. When we went with our DD3 it was easy as she'd have no problem just sleeping in the stroller and we'd just leisurely walk around. Harder when they are 6 and still need a nap and you don't use a stroller anymore.

My children have been to WDW under the age of 3 at least 4-5 times and we have never been questioned about their age. You could ask his parents for a copy of his birth certificate if it makes you feel better but I really don't think you will need it. As far as naps go...we never go back to the room for naps. My kids have always just napped in their stroller.

No proof needed.
When kids are tired they will fall dead asleep anywhere. Just be sure to have a stroller.

Ain't this the truth. My son used to fall asleep while eating, put him in a moving vehicle and he was out like a light, even a roller coaster and bless Disney for places like Hall of Presidents and COP, best sleeping spots for a kid. I'd often just find a place to sit, he'd crawl in my lap and be out like a light.

Great thank you! What rides can a two year old not go on due to height requirements, besides the obvious Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain?

space mountain, big thunder mountain, splash mountain, seven dwarfs mine train not for 38" or lower

We always brought an umbrella stroller that reclines so they can lay pretty much straight down for in park naps. They cost about $60 I think.

anything that does not have height requirement and any that the child makes the height for

In addition to a good stroller and snacks, make sure the stroller is prominently labeled so it’s easier to find in the sea of strollers. And I’d label the kiddo, too, just in case he makes a run for it and gets lost in the crowd. We purchased temporary tattoos for our girls (put them on the inside of their forearms) that we wrote our cell numbers on, just in case they got separated from us.

Edited to add the tattoos we used- https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B005BQRTMK/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My son was 15 mos and we were never asked for proof of his age, but I would bring a copy of the birth certificate just in case.

My son napped in his stroller, we got one that reclined back fully and he was fine. I was SUPER nervous about having lunch at BOG because the only reservation I could get was at nap time, but my little guy was a trooper. I would definitely avoid long lines, restaurants, anywhere tight and crowded when it's around nap time (if you can) so your child doesn't get overstimulated and miserably tired.

Snacks, drinks, comfy stroller, at MK the little ones can really ride a lot of stuff, if it’s hot our kids love to play in the splash area in storybook circus so we pack a towel and a change of clothes incase they’re uncomfortable after

One time I was in a gift shop at a museum with my mom and sister who were standing RIGHT next to me. My daughter (newly 3yrs) was showing me something and I said "Show Aunt Ninnie". Who was literally standing next to me. I turned around to pull something down from a shelf assuming she was right next to my sister. When I turned around she was GONE. She hadn't seen my sister standing right next to me and had walked to the other end of the store yelling "Aunt Ninnie? Look what I have" in her little baby voice in the middle of a crowd of people. My heart stopped beating the whole 60 seconds it took me to find her. Ever since then I attached one of those GPS locator tabs to her jacket or put it in her pocket etc when we are going to be out in a big crowd. I'm getting her a lanyard and a magic keeper for this trip and will attach the tab to that. Hopefully we will never need it but just in case.

what an awesome idea! something you'll hopefully never have to use, but still great to have!

I just wanted to suggest some quiet spots for you - there is a sort of tent with lots of seating in the back of new fastasyland (by storybook circus) and tom sawyers island has some quiet spots. My dd did not easily fall asleep in strollers.

Also wanted to mention at that age, my dd hated 3D and she was completely freaked out by Philharmagic.
