We enjoyed cinnamon rolls and pastries of various kinds most mornings with a mug of terrible coffee from Artist Palette at SSR (I thought now that the Nescafe was gone and Joffries replaced it, the coffee was supposed to be better. It wasn't.) Other mornings we hit Starbuck's in the parks for a latte and cinnamon roll (get the Mickey cinnamon roll)! We had quick service breakfast at Artist Palette a morning or two and it was pretty good (variety of hot breakfasts).

WCC for lunch--our opening meal. Our server should be reassigned to ToT or Haunted Mansion. He would be perfect in the role! The food was completely average.

Boma for dinner--this was the very best, all-around, one DDP credit meal. Everything was delicious!

Akershus for dinner--for me, personally, this was the best one credit meal (because I ordered the braised beef). I had read about the braised beef but it was no longer on the menu as a stand-alone entree. It was one part of the Viking Feast. The server offered to give me ALL braised beef instead of the combination of meats listed. I thoroughly enjoyed all of my food! The desserts are the weakest part of the meal, IMO, yet perfectly fine and tasty. The princesses were outstanding in their interactions and tenderness with the little ones!

BOG for dinner--We should have skipped this one! I think since we have dined there 4-5 times we should have just waited for the new signature offerings. There was nothing special about the food. No one was impressed. The Beast, however, was tremendous in his exchange with our grand daughter, which was a highlight for our trip!

Marrakesh--Blah! The food was not nearly as good as what we had at Boma, Jiko, Tusker House or the quick service location in Morocco (Tangierine Cafe). We are spoiled by a Moroccan Restaurant in Texas (Moroccan Bites, San Antonio). Our server seemed to have some hostility issues. He didn't seem to appreciate the fact that we didn't want to pay cash for our meal (he had scanned our band ealier to take the dining credits required). The highlight of the meal was the belly dancer who was beautiful, talented and very sweet with the little ones who she called up to dance.

Morimoto Asia--Very good! We enjoyed the lunch combo immensely (we also ordered other items) and felt it was a great use of one dining credit! It is a lovely restaurant! Having said that, while we wouldn't be opposed to visiting again next trip we wouldn't rush back either. It was what we call a "great one-timer"!

My adult son and DIL went on dates at Teppan Edo (they loved it) and San Angel (perfectly fine).

Skipper Canteen for dinner--our second time to dine there...probably our last. The service was just...ODD! The food was nothing to write home about.

Jiko--a beautiful restaurant (probably our fourth or fifth dinner here). Service was nice. I always want to like Jiko a bit more than I actually do. My halibut was okay. The taste of Africa was good. The malva dessert was okay (that bird's nest is reminiscent of shredded mini wheats). The best dessert on the table by far was the sunset one (especially if you like lemon curd). Two of my sons ordered elk loin (rare as recommended) and it was pretty tough. Still, we had a good time there.

Sanaa--perfect in every way! We moaned through most of the meal!

Tusker House dinner--Good character interaction, especially from Donald Duck! I am sorry, (to those who claim Tusker House is "Boma Light") but Tusker House doesn't even come CLOSE to Boma as far as offerings and quality. Off the list for future dinners!

California Grill--so glad we gave it a third try (last time our pretentious server ruined the meal for us). This was BY FAR the standout meal of our trip! WOW!! Just perfect! It was everything a signature meal should be. Our host was so kind. Our server wanted to please. The food was sublime. Just go!

We have decided that the quick service meal plan is not something we would every want to purchase. Why? It is too much time and effort to leave the parks to travel to the few really great quick service locations. Our quick service meals ranged from bad to unremarkable...with a couple very notable exceptions: Satuli Canteen (dined three times) (the blue dessert is MUCH better than the chocolate, BTW), and the Polite Pig in Disney Springs. Both restaurants are not to be missed! Honorable mention goes to Tangierine Cafe.

Snacks:
Ample Hills Creamery--very good!
L'Artisan des Glaces in Epcot's France (always my favorite) let me down. I ordered the same exact snacks as I have for years and it was not the same for me. Time to move on.
Caramel from Karamell-Küche was good.
The ice cream shop on Main Street served up a nice sundae for us one night using only one snack credit!
Pongu Pongu--loved the Night Blossom Boba beverage! I like tart things, though...YMMV!
Ghirardelli--can't go wrong with something creamy and frozen with hot fudge over it!

So glad to hear about your wonderful experience at Cali Grill. I had just mentioned in another post that we're going to give it another try on our upcoming trip in August. Our last meal there was horrendous, primarily due to the horrible waiter we had who totally ruined the whole experience.

We probably had the same server last time we tried CG! A bad server can RUIN an otherwise good meal! I hope you are as fortunate as we this time around!!
