That's what we do as well. My daughter once traded away the first pin she bought to another kid while we were ordering food. We found the family she traded with and explained the situation and they were gracious enough to trade back (plus we through in a few extra as a thank you). Since then, keepers get a locking back or go into a pin binder.I should add that my kids keep non-trading "keeper" pins locked, and trading pins either unlocked or in the same pouch as the allen wrench. We are at the point now where they need a lanyard for their "keepers" and a lanyard for their "traders".
