Which Travel Time Would You Pick

I am beginning to plan our next vacation for 2019, and I have some new obstacles. My son will be in middle school in 2019 and my SO is not a Disney guy, but he’ll go along because I am a Disney Girl.

The options:
Late August - we don’t start school until after Labor Day
Spring Break - right at Easter
We cannot do winter break because he works retail.

Thanks for any advice.

Late August.
Although personally I'd take the kid out of school but that's just my opinion. I know some don't like the idea so to each their own.

Definitely late August. Most of us Floridians are back at school in mid August. If your SO is not a Disney guy, the less crowded is the better. Do NOT go on Easter!!

I wish I could, thats usually what I do. Unfortunately there are new rules for Middle and High that really make it impossible without a doctor’s note.

Easter was very crowded depending on if your week falls with Easter. It was very busy but manageable.
Late AUgust is very hot and my kids were miserable. After that trip, they decided that the did not need to go back to WDW. It was 8 years before we went back and it was over our spring break 2017 ( two weeks before Easter). It was not bad at all. We went Easter break 2018 and it was very crowded. We are going again in November.

Late August. I went mid August one year, and I don't remember the heat. I'm sure it was hot/humid, but part of me is like "I'm in Florida in August, what else would I expect?"

Granted I went when we were still recovering from the recession, so crowds were super low and everything was a walk on...I'm sure it won't be like that but it will be less crowded than Easter

Choose the time that best fits your finances and the attendees' obligations for work and school.
I'm confident that the differences in weather can be worked into your plans.

Even with surface-of-the-sun temps :scared:, I'd choose late August. My son will be in middle school this coming school year too. We easily took him out of school when we last went (he was in 4th grade), but that's not an option in our MS and HS either. So it'll be school breaks only from now on, sadly. I feel you!

We did Easter week once because our DD was in the DCP and wanted to spend Easter with her.....we will never do it again. It was so crowded - I couldn't believe it. Plus it happened to be extra hot that week - so you add the heat and the crowds - we didn't do as much as we do in August. We love the end of August for light crowds - its not empty but much lighter than spring break.

August will be cheaper and hotter.
Easter will be more expensive and probably more crowded.

I went in August last year. Never again! (will probably do it again)

Another vote for late August. yeah, it'll be hot, but most people will have already gone back to school, so hopefully lower crowds. Certainly, lower than Easter week. Just plan on it being hot--bring plenty of water, find spots to rest in the shade, that sort of thing. A lot of the lines are shaded, so that will help. We like to take a mid-day break, then go back in the (cooler) evenings, but that's a personal choice.
