I *think* I made DH a lifelong Disney Fan! A June 2017 TR (the end 7/19)

Safe travels today! Hope the bribery works out for you :-) We're using the tried and true technique to get Casey on Rock n Roller Coaster in August
Thank you! The bribery worked out very well!

Have a magical trip! I am gonna love seeing all the FB pictures!! Sad we just miss each other next weekend though!
Thanks! I am sad we missed one another but you looked like you had a great time!

We are back from our trip! Actually about a week or so ago....but I have been incredibly busy since then so I am just now getting back to all of you. I am about to post the next installment of our DHS day but first, I have news! So I did this thing where I became a Travel Agent specializing in Disney! I had been wanting to do it for awhile and I had another agent in one of my FB groups approach me, so I took it as a sign and jumped in, feet first! So now I will get to plan Disney trips all the time! So fun! Onto the report...

Day Eight 6/10/2017 ~ DHS (part 2)
So when I last left you, we had just seen Olaf and Chad had just ridden Star Tours. Now it was time to head over to TSMM with our FPs. I'm fairly certain I rode with Will.
IMG_6516.JPG
After that, we headed to One Man's Dream. I wanted to show Chad and the boys all the cool Walt stuff and the models there. We also waited to watch the Car 3 extended preview. I can't remember if it was before or after this that I had my first drink from Joffrey's but it was some type of Mango alcoholic concoction and it definitely was not my last. I really think I may have had one before One Man's Dream and one after....
Anyway, here's the evidence of at least one:
IMG_6518.JPG
I know I also grabbed a pretzel and some plastic cheese (yum!) and we headed over to the Indy show. We had FPs here, not because we needed them but because I wanted to use up our FPs so I could grab Fantasmic as a fourth. We enjoyed the pretzel and the show but it was quite hot. That I still remember a year later.

After this, I got to head to my favorite ride at WDW...Tower of Tower! Chad stayed back with the boys and I got to enjoy! It was great! Then I jumped on MDE and booked us FPs for Fantasmic later and we headed for the exit. We made a stop at Trolley Car cafe and I have no idea what we bought...maybe some cake pops and/or a cupcake? Anyway, that's the problem with taking a year (or more) to finish a trip report, right? In any case, I was supposed to use my Starbucks gift cards here - as a teacher, I have several as that is a go-to teacher gift - but, of course, I completely forgot!

So we headed back to the resort for a break. W
e were supposed to try to get back for Characterpalooza as well as the Disney Jr show and the Little Mermaid show, but everyone was just dragging, so we decided to take an extended nap and just get back for dinner and Fantasmic. We truly needed that but I'm sorry we missed Characterpalooza. Maybe in October.

Eventually we woke up and headed out but not before
we got some photos of the Lodge:

My photos don't do it justice but this resort is amazingly beautiful.

After the photos, we grabbed the car and headed back to DHS. We had to stop by Guest Services and give them the card from AJ's JTA show so we could get the photos loaded on our account and that ended up taking forever but, of course, was well worth the wait because the photos are just so good. After this we had dinner at Sunset Market Ranch. I have no idea what we ate and I have no photos, of course. I think we all got different things since they have the three different places there. The boys probably had cereal. Funny enough, this past trip, they ordered at every place we ate at and they refused to share so the dining plan is starting to sound better and better for next June.

After this we headed over to Fantasmic but not before another stop at a Joffery's cart. Yum! Because we had taken so much time to get the photos earlier, we were too late to sit in the FP section, but honestly there aren't many, if any, bad seats. While we waited, we had some photo fun:

We all loved the show. I think this was the boys favorite nighttime show and it is high on my list too. As we were walking out - boy that was an experience - we got to see the fireworks from the Star Wars show. We finally made it out, got into the car and easily made our way back to WL. Such a different experience than using the buses earlier in the week.

We got back to WL and I'm sure the boys went right to bed and Chad and I, most likely, packed some because the next day was our last day. Boo hoo.

I'll stop here but I'm planning to finish up this report this week.

Up next: Day Nine 6/11/2017 ~ Departure Day

Great update! Love you photos of Boulder Ridge. We just got back from our trip as well and we bought into DVC at Copper Creek. Love the location of Wilderness Lodge and the whole vibe of the resort! Glad you guys had a great trip, but sorry you had to come back home!!

Welcome Back! I have fallen off the wagon of my trip reports... I need to get back to them as well!

I love Mango1

This is my favorite thrill ride too.

We truly needed that but I'm sorry we missed Characterpalooza.

I haven't caught it yet either, but really want to. Might have to ditch DH. He doesn't like character meets.

We all loved the show. I think this was the boys favorite nighttime show and it is high on my list too.

This is a family favorite for us too. We've missed it the last 2 trips.:(

Casey doesn't like Rock n' Roller Coaster? Gwen "claims" that she wants to go again.... I feel like this is easy to say with no trip in sight at the moment....
She hasn't tried it yet. We got her on an upside down roller coaster at Hershey Park last year but then chicken out on RnR in November. We'll see if she's brave enough this time....

We've never been able to do this either. Do you know if it is still happening every day? We're only doing 1 day at MGM in August but its later in the day so maybe we could finally take advantage.

It truly is. So glad you all are members here. Fingers crossed we can finally return in 2019. Its been way too long.

Looks like you all had a ton of fun. Love the idea of getting a 4th FP for it and then coming back. May have to steal that one :-)

Congratulations
Thank you!

I haven’t checked this year because we did not do HS this past trip but we will in October so I will look soon and let you know!

Good luck!

Steal away!

Your WL photos are gorgeous! Must try that resort some day. And glad y’all caught Fantasmic! Didn’t you get rained out on that one in 2016?

Welcome back and congrats on your new Disney adventure as a TA!

I can't believe you are still able to remember all these details! I stand in awe that you are still trucking along in this TR. I gave up on mine a long time ago. I think I've just decided to not do them. I do enjoy having a "diary" of trip but they can just be so time consuming! Are you going to do some for your 2018 trips? I so enjoy reading them so I hope so!

Don't you love WL?! All your pictures are beautiful. I can't wait to be there again!!!

Funny enough, this past trip, they ordered at every place we ate at and they refused to share so the dining plan is starting to sound better and better for next June.

We are considering it for future trips as well; as they get bigger they eat! LOL! With two boys I can only imagine how the teen years will be!

It’s wonderful! Of course, I want to also try different resorts but both my DH and my oldest are pushing back with that!

Well even though they ordered it they didn’t necessarily eat it...lol. They are so picky! But if they insist on ordering it, I’m paying so it might as well be covered by the plan.

Same here! DH LOVES WL and the only other resort he has any interest in is Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is so hard to nab with DVC.

LOL! Exactly my thinking; it's being bought any way!

OMG, I thought I had replied to you two. So Sorry!!

Your WL photos are gorgeous! Must try that resort some day.
Yes, you really do! And you must take the boat. It is wonderful!

And glad y’all caught Fantasmic! Didn’t you get rained out on that one in 2016?
Yes, we did.. And I really love it! Hopefully we can catch it in October!

Welcome back and congrats on your new Disney adventure as a TA!
Thank you so much!

Some things I do remember but the photos and the receipts and the touring plans elp me a lot! LOL

I gave up on mine a long time ago.
I wondered if you were still planning to add to it.

I think I've just decided to not do them. I do enjoy having a "diary" of trip but they can just be so time consuming!
Yes, I agree to both points. I want the diary but they are very time consuming!

Are you going to do some for your 2018 trips? I so enjoy reading them so I hope so!
I really want to, so I am sure I will attempt it!

Day Nine 6/11/2017 ~ Departure Day

Okay y'all, obviously I did not come back that week and finish this report but it is truly time to get it done, so I am going to finish now. There really isn't much left anyway, so let's get it done.

We woke up on Sunday morning and finished packing up. We had bell services come get the luggage to store it while we went to breakfast. However, they ended up having to get two carts! Oops! This is why this year, I got an owner's locker. And yes, I filled that sucker up in June.

Anyway, after that, we headed down to the boat dock for a ride over to Fort Wilderness for our brunch at Trail's End!

IMG_6535.JPG

We got to FW and didn't wait long to be seated for brunch. I don't have much memory left about what we ate but I know they had a lot available. I had heard lots of great things about this meal so I am not sure if this was an off day for them or what, but this meal wasn't that great. The food seemed like it had been out and under the heat lamps a while and the service wasn't the greatest...so our last meal was probably one of our worst. Fortunately it didn't sway our opinions of Disney or most of the food there. But it did kind of fit in with the melancholy of departure day!

After the so-so meal, we took the boat back to WL:

I just love this resort!!

IMG_6540.JPG
And just like that, we were back and it was time to head home from the best Walt Disney World vacation that I can ever remember having!

It started off a tad rough, but it turned the corner so fast! And now we own DVC and we will be spending many, many years at Disney as a family!

Thank you all so much for hanging in with me. This one took forever and I really don't know why. Maybe because I had lots of memories to tell you all about, but regardless, I enjoyed reliving them all with you!

Hopefully I can get our June trip report going but I won't make any promises because I know how that goes. I will say that while any trip to Disney is a fun trip, I did not enjoy the resort time as much as I enjoy park time. There, I said it! LOL. But DH and the boys had a great time! I'll post the link when I get that started.

Currently we are 77 days out from our October trip (Pop, MNSSHP, and TSL) and I have made our June reservations (6/8-6/16, WL). I am knee deep in the October trip prep but I cannot wait to start planning for June! Maybe I will get a PTR going for that one by ADR date (Dec).

Thanks again! **THE END**

Those seem so helpful!

Hmm, good thing I decided not to do it. I'll have to see what other Sunday Brunches are available closer to my trip, since I now have my second sunday morning free.

Just get yourself tickets and let DH stay with the boys at the pool!
