So just wondering if any plus size ladies(size20 or over) have been to DLP recently, how did you get on, how were the rides, did you struggle with anything, any embarrassing moments , were there any larger people when you visited, my anxiety is through the roof! I’ve booked up but am now worried about my size ? Any help\advice will be appreciated thanks!!

I'm a size 20 lady and just got back from DLP. I didn't feel weird about my size just at the park, so it wasn't bad that way. For rides that there were some "difficulties"

-Crush's Coaster: I did have to suck it in to make sure it latched properly. But that ride is so awesome, I'd absolutely recommend going for it! If you can, I'd have someone else take care of the bags. The first time I rode I had a backpack, and it's difficult to fit underneath (the vehicle keeps moving down the walkway as you board and get situated, so you feel a bit of a rush to get settled), so it was wedged between myself and the stranger next to me, but I ended up hanging onto the strap too. The next times I rode I didn't have a bag with me and it was much easier!

-RC Racer: another suck-in because there is the harness above plus a belt that comes up from between your legs. But I got it on. I don't know if they had extenders, but that was doubtful. The ride itself was fun, but not worth a long wait in line.

-RnRC, Hyperspace Mountain, Indiana Jones - typical over the head restraints. Depending on your size in certain areas (chest region), it may require adjusting, but no more so than a typical over the head restraint at WDW.

-Cars 4 Car Rally - now this one was my absolute worst experience at DLP. The seat belts were just too small (like the buckles could touch but not connect). The first CM didn't know what to do. Second CM to check also didn't know what. Finally took a third CM to know there was an extender belt at the front that they could get to connect, but it felt like they made a big show of getting it (like holding it over their head and tossing across the area) and I was the one delaying the whole ride. I was also a solo adult rider, so it looked even weirder because everyone else had kids with them. So I was very very unhappy about that whole experience.

I think those were the only times I even noticed my size making a difference, but overall I went on everything. There were plenty of larger people at the parks (of all nationalities), so it's not like I stood out from the crowd! If anything, I stood out because I was actually polite and followed the rules!

So, I totally get your anxiety (I feel it too), but it should be fine!

Oh, and one add-on to the post: in general the turnstiles were narrower than in the US. So there were times I turned to the side. But people smaller than me also had difficulties, so I think most people who are adult-sized have issues with that. Just make sure there is a gap in the line on the other side for you to step into!

Oh, and merchandise: don't count on finding many shirts your size. Maybe the mens shirts fit, but very few of the womens shirts go up to XXL, and even that is smaller than American sizes. I did end up buying 2 shirts, which are probably a bit tighter than I would like, but the design was super cute, so I went with it!

Thank you all for your replies!! I shall defo check that post out,, and Lesley it sounds like you had fun! You have made me feel a hell of a lot better’ least I can be better prepared!!!

Glad to help! If you check any of my Trip reports you should see full length photos of me, so you can compare in size!

And feel free to ask any other questions! I was there for 4 nights/5 days, and besides other guests being horrible, had a great time! The park itself is gorgeous and I spent hours just wandering around, especially in Adventureland. Studios has its issues, which is why they are doing the major expansion, but has some fun rides and excellent shows.

The men's won't fit. I am a bit smaller and they don't fit me by far. Most of the time French XXL doesn't even fit my boyfriend who's in German sizing an L bordering XL.

I’m a uk size 28-30 and the xxl hoody’s and t shirts in Dlp fit me.
And for the cars ride you ask for the extender before you head to the car.

I'm German size 48 bordering on 50 which I guess equals 20 to 22 in the UK? I have no chance whatsoever fitting in French XXL. No wait, I managed once - that turquoise Marie sweater they sold years ago.

Not that you find much XXL now to try on anyway. Fandaze shirts only went up to XL, and I may have been able to fit those over one thigh.

We bought an US friend who needs an US size S one of the Dreams jackets - she needed an L in Paris sizing.

I don't do thrill rides, so I wouldn't have any ideas about extenders.

Just got back a few days ago. Size 20/22, DLR/WDW veteran first time at DLRP. Rode everything without a problem except the Cars ride. Really wish I had known about the seatbelt extender. First Disney ride ever I couldn't fit on. There were so many different types of guests that I didn't feel wierd/out of place. I did wonder about that before going. Clothes- not a chance. They go up to XXL and neither the mens nor women's stood a chance of fitting me.

RC Racer does not have seatbelt extensions. One row was modified to give a little more room a few years ago and If you can't fit in that row, you can't ride unfortunately. I would need to check if that row is still modified though.

Space Mountain new cars don't use seatbelts, but there is a sensor per restraint that has to be tripped in order for the ride to be launched. The cast members will get an indication a seat is not correct and come check it out and try to push on it to get it to show a green light.

If it eases anyone's mind, the Cars ride is definitely meant to be a kids' ride. Honestly, they should just put up a sign stating that it's for people under a certain height. I'm about 5'2/5'3 and maybe 120 pounds and the seating isn't comfortable for me; I can't imagine what it would be like for someone who was larger. You basically sit in a tiny car that spins in a little circle which spins inside of a larger circle. It's essentially a less fun version of the teacup ride. I did it once just to say that I had, but adults without small children almost never ride it. Definitely ask about restrictions regarding Crush's Coaster, though. That's a MUST DO. If you're staying at a Disney hotel, take advantage of the extra magic hours and go to the Studios park FIRST, at least long enough to do Crush's Coaster (go there first) followed by Ratatouille. The other rides tend to have moments when the wait is a bit shorter, but Crush and Ratatouille have long lines pretty much all the time. Best to hit them early, before the parks are full. Weekdays are better, too. Oh, and if you have any motion sickness issues you should probably skip Star Tours. I don't usually and I can barely manage it since they changed the ride. I have an annual pass and go to the parks at least a couple times a month, usually, but I only do Star Tours if I have friends that absolutely want to do it, and I usually leave feeling sick. People often get sick on that ride now, too. :( Cars I've literally only done once and it wasn't really worth the ten minute wait then....

When I went last year I was a size 22 and didn't have any issues with any rides; crush was a bit of a..erm.. crush as I carry most of my weight on my stomach. I must admit the fear I felt in the queue each time from worrying about whether or not I'd fit did really dampen my holiday. So much so I got home and joined Weight Watchers I'm now a 16/18 and went to Thorpe Park this weekend and loved not having to worry about not fitting.
