What is something you like to do the "old fashion way"

Cooking from scratch & not a box. It may be the "old fashioned way" but to me it is new. Growing up I was always told how much more work/harder it was to cook things from scratch vs the box (baking, mac & cheese, etc) and I have found that it is not really and the end results are so much better.

Grilling with charcoal
:thumbsup2 Mmmm - I haven't actually had food cooked that way since I can't remember when, but I can close my eyes right this minute and smell the lighter fluid on the coals. :cloud9: Even wood-fire isn't as good and a gas BBQ (like the one we have) doesn't come close.

U do? Me 2! And I'm also a grumpy old bat who insists on texting full sentences, properly punctuated. :teeth:
There really isn’t an excuse for “text speak” anymore when most of us have keyboards on our phones. My oldest (21) will get on the younger two (12.5) about it. She never lets it slide which is nice since it saves me the trouble.

Just thought of another one as I've spent the late afternoon doing housework: I prefer scrubbing the floor "properly". We went LVP in our current house and I really like being able to take a mop and bucket of hot, soapy water to the floors.

Grilling with charcoal

We've had gas grills for decades, but this year DW suddenly said she wanted a charcoal grill. We bought a tabletop model before Memorial Day and have used it about 10 times already. Yeah, food tastes MUCH better over charcoal. I'm thinking of putting the gas grill out by the street for somebody to take.

I have a gas pressure washer I'm ready to dispose of as well. Bought an electric one several weeks ago.

Paper calendar to write appts and I like to use a land line phone when making any kind of important appointments or travel details.

I prefer to talk on the phone instead of texting. So much nuance is missed in texts plus I think plans and problems are figured out much faster talking rather than texting. I ever since I found a To Do List pad of paper that breaks the list into 4 sections (errands, chores, correspondence and notes) I’ve used that instead of my phone. Looking at it all in that format really helps keep me on track.

I don’t keep my calendar on paper though. The family calendar is very complicated and I like the fact that on Google Calendar I can assign everyone a color and set up recurring events such as dance classes. My husband keeps a Google Cale far that’s linked to mine so I can see his appointments as soon as he puts them on the calendar. Once I convinced him to adopt it our schedule got much less messy because I didn’t have to worry about double bookings. I also eliminated phone calls from asking about the family’s schedule. That got annoying.

Prefer doing business in person or by phone vs. anything online.

Love to read physical books - not electronic.

Cook/bake without recipes for everything.

Shop in 'brick & mortar' stores - not online.

Cameras with film - love to have the paper photos. Yes, I can have them printed from digital, but seldom bother. The digital can be more efficient, I know!

Yes, I'm of a certain generation!!
