9 nights in a studio at CCV or Poly?

For those of you who have stayed in both, what would you choose? This is a trip for me and my wife in March.

Does Poly have any quiet areas to just sit and read a book? My wife really likes the lobby at Boulder Ridge Villas. We like the idea of the extra space. 9 nights is a long vacation for us. So just wondering what would win out - extra space at Poly or quiet area at Boulder Ridge / Copper Creek.

CCV would be my choice. Poly has nothing as far as a quiet location anywhere in the entire resort. Also you must go out side in the weather to get something to eat. CCV you can walk indoors to the fast food location or to both sit down locations. Can't beat the WL/CCV lobby and many other quiet locations around the resort. Like the fireplace on the 2nd floor, or out on the balcony in a rocker. I don't think I could take 9 nights in any studio, but that's your call. Good luck deciding and have a good trip.

Have stayed as a couple at both resorts (but CCV stay was in a 1 bedroom).

Poly was nice, but I strongly prefer CCV or even BRV, for all the reasons BillPA listed. The entire WL complex is even more amazing now that all the changes are complete. Seems especially nice for a non-park intensive stay.

We have been owners of WL-BRV for 14 years now, but just returned, a month ago, from 10 days in a CCV 2BR. GREAT resort, units are a bit on the small side, compared to our main home resort of OKW, then again all DVC resort are smaller than OKW. CCV had more than enough space to feel comfortable. Many nice touches in this new resort. We WILL stay here again.

I have to agree with the others. BRV/CCV have multiple places to sit, collect yourself and read. The living room at BRV is stunning as is the main lobby at the Lodge. I have spent many hours enjoying those spaces.

I would choose Poly over CCV for the space and nice (extra) shower, but would definitely choose BRV over both for the lobby that's perfect for relaxing with a book.

For a trip that long I would consider a split stay. We just stayed at BRV for the first time this summer and really liked it, but for us nothing beats the Poly. We were in a 2BR at BRV, so not sure about the space in a villa, but the extra bathroom space at the Poly is great.

I was thinking the same thing! I love WL and you can't go wrong for the quiet peace of it all. Poly has its draw as well with the monorail, nice eats, plus proximity to other resorts and their eats(do you see a pattern here).
I would do Poly 2-3 nights, then head over to WL for the remainder to get the serenity as your trip winds down.

We just completed a Split Stay at both these resorts 3 weeks ago...1st 1/2 CCV and followed up by Poly.
Both resorts are very very tranquil/ relaxing...I do like the set up better at CCV/WL TBH...All indoors if bad weather...I love the theming there as well, and the rooms are in great shape and decorated nicely. 2 nice pools..Not huge but suffice. Nice places for food. RF is great.

Poly has a certain aura around that whole resort that is indescribable...Every CM is sooo friendly...I've never said ALOHA as many times in my life as I did, & heard down there for 4 days...LoL The grounds/restaurants/pool and everything else down here is second to none....I didn't like that you had to get from your longhouse to the main bldg out in the open...but minor problem... Bus service was pretty good at both places.... But the kicker is the size of the room compared to All other DVC Studios..(GFV excluded) It's waaay bigger than all, plus that 2nd bathroom worked out tremendously..

With that being said......That would be just a tad enough to teeter it in the direction of POLY....If the size of the room / and 2nd Bath isn't a big deal, then for sure I'd go with CCV...HTH:confused3...Good luck in whichever you choose:thumbsup2

Just an aside: if your intent is to get a Poly, CCV or BRV studio for March 2019, be aware that you are already past the 7 month reservation window for most of the month and (a) the Poly, CCV and BRV studios might already be filled for the times you want, and (b) if you do not act to reserve immediately, they will soon definitely no longer be available for any times that are still left in March.

Very true, and that is just how DVC is going. More and more, if you don't book EARLY in your 11 month window, you will be shut out. And once things reach the 7 month window, then almost everything that is left 'evaporates' very fast. AKV, OKW and SSR will usually be the last ones to fill up (in that order), but even though some of them, such as SSR, might have a LOT of availability at 7 months, it almost never has FULL availability. Some choices and selections and categories will already be filled.

So, grab what you can, at the soonest possible date. And, keep in mind, it really is a better choice in almost every case to buy where you want to vacation. AND book at 11 months. That is the ONLY way that you are going to have full options.

It would be a lot more points to stay at PBV for 9 nights versus CCV. Since the studio is for a couple, I think either would be fine. It is just a different vibe at the Poly versus Wilderness Lodge. As others have said there are no quiet places to sit and read a book at the Poly. I have tried to read in the lobby at the Poly, it is way too distracting. Wilderness Lodge is prefect for a relaxing vacation.
