Regarding Tickets purchased in a hotel + tickets package - info posted by @GillianP1301:

Date-based tickets purchased as part of a Walt Disney Travel Company room and ticket package will have one of the following valid use periods (whichever is longer):
(i) the same valid use period described above, OR
(ii) a valid use period beginning on the package resort arrival date and ending on the package resort check-out date.

For example, a Guest who purchases a Walt DisneyTravel Company package with a 3-Day base ticket and a resort length of stay of 6 nights with an arrival date ofNov. 1; ticket is valid any 3 days from Nov, 1 – Nov. 7.

“At Walt Disney World Resort, we are constantly looking for new ways to deliver the best experience possible for our guests – from the moment they book their vacation through the very last attraction they visit in the theme parks.

With all there is to see and do in our parks, we know guests are increasingly looking for easier ways to plan a vacation with personalized options that fit their individual needs. Beginning Oct. 16 on DisneyWorld.com, guests will be able to access our new online vacation-planning destination and purchase tickets priced by the date of visit. These changes are designed to simplify the booking experience, give guests an enhanced way to purchase theme park tickets and help them more easily plan the Disney vacation of their dreams.

The new online vacation-planning destination features park offering overviews, travel tips from Disney Parks Moms Panelists and customized suggestions based on each guest’s personal preferences – helping guests make more informed decisions.

When guests are ready to purchase tickets online, they may use an interactive online calendar, which displays different prices based on the dates guests choose to visit and states tickets will need to be used during a specific time period. The calendar also allows guests to quickly see the lowest-priced days within a month. For example, prices may be lower during off-peak travel periods.

Check out the video below for a first look at how it works.

Once tickets are purchased, guests will be able to continue seamlessly planning their vacation on the website through My Disney Experience, which guides guests through the different phases and steps of personalizing their vacation to make the most of their travel party’s unique interests. Guests can manage their plans through the My Disney Experience mobile app as well, where they will also be able to access the interactive calendar and purchase their tickets on the go.

So why are we making these changes? As our parks have increased in popularity, there are more and more guests who wish to experience our world-class attractions. Introducing date-based tickets and pricing will allow us to better distribute attendance throughout the year so that we can continue to improve and deliver a great experience.”

Sigh--still glad I have 8 days left on some old non-expiring Park Hopper & More tickets. Guess once they're gone we'll be AP holders again, because 3-4 day trips are going to be too expensive.

(said on other thread)

So this seems a lot less complicated than I thought it was going to be, as in it doesn't seem as though you need to pick a park each day, just a one park per day ticket.

Happy to see park hoppers still an option.

Terrified to see how much May will cost!

I believe this is the reason why the site has been having so many issues lately. They have been building and trying to integrate this new interface and ticket system
I assumed that as soon as I saw this! But Disney IT has a horrible track record. This most recent mess was just one of the more notable epic fails.

That doesn’t sound easier to me
Having to pick specific days for tickets in advance.

At least it seems to give you a range of days and not being locked into only those days for those that don't exactly know everything going in.

I don't understand - do you all buy park tickets before you know when you are going or something? We don't buy until our trip dates are solid - meaning work approved and all.
