Homecomin' and the dining plan

Anyway, we are going to Homecomin' at Disney Springs for dinner. Now, I read that some restaurants are willing to exchange desserts with starters. How is Homecomin's policy with that? Would we be able to exchange some of our desserts for starters?
Also, I would rather not have an entree, and prefer the starters. So, would they be willing to let me order a starter as part of my dining plan (instead of an entree)?

I don't think anyone allows an actual starter. Very few might allow a small side salad. They won't allow you to swap a starter for an entree, the plan is entree, beverage and dessert.
