November 10, 2018 - Disney Fantasy 7-Night Very MerryTime Western Caribbean

I hate swimsuit shopping :crazy2:

Do you have Dreams Unlimited? We received our gift basket from them the other day. Very pretty.

My stomach gets twisted in knots worrying about packing and getting house ready for my Mom to house/pet sit. I typed up instructions on how to use remote so that she can watch tv while we are gone. I need to talk to neighbor to see if Mom can contact them if there is a problem....there shouldn't be a problem, I hope. We replaced all smoke detector batteries so that none will start chirping with low battery....I think Mom would shoot herself if they chirped all week long. I have to get guest room ready for her, thankfully it's not in too bad of shape....we tend to dump junk in the room. Mom is worried about turning lights on and off with Alexa but I told her that she can just use the switches which are still on the walls...lol. I am going to have DD label all the switches with sticky notes...lol.

Yes, Dreams Unlimited. Allison Thomas has been fantastic.

Good Luck with all of your instructions! How funny about the lights being turned on/off with alexa! Light switches DO still work in 2018  That reminds me of the commercial where the young adult has a VR headset on and tells the trashcan to order a pizza and the fridge to turn on the tv and everything goes haywire but he has no idea and is riding on a hover board... something like that anyway :rotfl2:

That reminds me, DD had a friend sleep over a few weeks ago and the girl was amazed by us talking to Alexa to turn lights and TV on and off. Then when I took the girls out to the local trampoline place, my car tells me that I have a text and would I like her to read it. I hear this girl in the backseat say, “your car talks to you too!”. :rotfl2:

Just 21 more days from tomorrow! :woohoo:

Is anyone planning to book a future cruise while on board? I booked a six night October 2019 cruise in May and I'm guessing that I will not able to get a less expensive price while on board as it's six months since that cruise was released for booking. However, I plan on giving it a shot!!!

We are not going to book a specific date, but we will put a be booking a placeholder this time! :tink:

We have an 8 night Eastern Caribbean on Fantasy booked for October 2019. We are going to price it on board to see if it is less but I’m not expecting it to be. We will probably get a placeholder though. This will be the last time we will pull DD from school for a vacation.

I can’t believe it’s down to 21 days! I am so excited!

Are you guys going to book the gingerbread house making?

I guess I need to head right to Guest Services when I board to book it.

Do you have Palo or Remy booked?

We did Palo brunch once and it just isn’t our thing. It was a beautiful view though.

Yes, I have a Palo brunch booked for the 2nd sea day. I'm hoping when I board the ship, I'll be able to change to an earlier time. I'm currently booked at twelve noon.

Yes, we want to also do the Gingerbread House thing, I imagine it gets filled up quickly. We aren't doing Palo or Remy either, why pay for a meal when they feed you for FREE?! :rotfl2::cool1::thumbsup2 (We also don't drink alcohol/wine, so wouldn't enjoy those offerings)

Was there any particular reason you didn't care for the Palo brunch? The reason I'm asking is that I'm on the fence regarding the reservation. I've read that the brunch takes about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hours, I'm not sure I want to burn up that much time on a sea day. If I can get an earlier time, like 10:30, that would be better. I think I need to cancel at least 24 hours in advance (really not sure about this) so I guess I can check for an earlier time once I'm on board.

I can't believe it's only 15 more days away! Yahoo!

I feel like I can't start packing yet but maybe I can get my stuff packed this weekend. DD and DH will be wearing some of their stuff right up until the weekend before the cruise, at which time I will wash it all and pull the stuff so they can't wear it again until vacation. I wish the packing part wasn't so stressful. I have three big suitcases that I hope everything fits in because my plan is for each of us to only carry one backpack each onto the plane and ship. I hated wheeling around a roller suitcase all around the ship that first day.

Yes, 15 days is scaring me.... :confused3:rotfl:
I don't know why, I just feel so un-prepared. DD is grounded tonight ... she made us late for school today AND forgot her school iPad because she turned off the alarm on it instead of putting it in her backpack :sad2:, so I had to come ALL the way back home and the return it to school for her which is 45 miles round trip and gas isn't cheap! SO, I'm going to put her time to use and have her help me prepare somehow. She can pick-out her clothes and take pictures of what she wants me to pack, what she wants in her "car" back and day bag for the ship, etc. That will be better use of time anyway.

I "test" packed my 4 year olds clothes in a packing cube today and was excited that I could fit 9 pair of clothes in 1 for him!

I thought about the cruise earlier this afternoon. Two weeks from today, I'll be in Cocoa Beach!

I'm curious as to what movies will be playing on the ship during our cruise? I'm hoping that The Nutcracker and the Four Realms will be playing.

I’m thinking that will be playing too along with Wrinkle in Time but not sure what else....probably a Marval movie which we have already seen. I’m interested in Four Relms but will have to look at audience reviews for Wrinkle in Time. We usually see a few movies on the ship.

I've been looking at the movie schedule for some the recent cruises and it seems the movies that are currently playing are Antman and the Wasp, Incredibles 2, Wrinkle in Time, and Christopher Robin. I could watch the Incredibles again but the others really don't interest me. Hopefully we'll have a different selection.

I'd really like to see Christopher Robin, but I really love Winnie the Pooh. Don't care to see any of the others.
I've heard mixed reviews for Incredibles 2, story is good, but language wasn't. From what I've read on Plugged In (my go to movie review site), not sure how I feel about it. I'm pretty strict with movies.
Too much bad language in Antman for the kids to see that of coarse... not sure if I care to try.
A Wrinkle in Time looks too confusing/not interesting for me, although my daughter does have the book and may be interested after reading it.

Last cruise my husband wanted to watch ALL the movies... just because they were free, LOL. Not sure about this time...
