I am thinking....
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular Dessert Party at Disney's Hollywood Studios, for
Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular (nighttime fireworks and show).... But not sure (what OP referring to) b/c this should not be occurring, Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! takes its place during the holidays.

because....SW: GE, IMO would be Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge...The new Land opening next year in HS.

thats what i was thinking too!!!!

Anyone have any idea what the waits for Donald/Scrooge and Minnie/Daisy are like around 8:30-9 in the party during the first parade?

The Pretzel was decent!!

I have read this about the FP, but that didn't happen to us. Here is how our trip purchases went down though. I only bought xmas party tickets, and they were in my account. I bought those in October. I then booked my fastpasses. A week or so later I added some one day tickets we won through a fundraiser for our other days for my 2 kids, and bought a 2 day ticket for myself. We booked fast passes for those other days prior to our trip, probably 2 weeks out. So I'm not sure why mine weren't cancelled to be honest. We booked our three which started at 3:30 up until 6pm

Okay thanks its no biggie, it is just PP and 7D, hich I have fast passed pretty much everyday we hit MK. Not really stressing it due to last trip at this time of year it seemed like a ghost town.

Just want to double check something...can we add our MVMCP tickets to our magic bands? (I'm thinking that's a No but wanted to double check).
How did you purchase your tickets? If you did it through the WDW website and selected people, the tickets are already assigned to your profiles and any bands/cards associated with those same profiles will work.

I haven't ordered them yet...how would we get the bracelets? Do they just scan our bands the afternoon/night of the party?
Yes, you can get into Magic Kingdom starting at 4pm the night of your party. You scan in using your magic band, and there will CM's right past the scanners putting on the MVMCP bracelets. You will need the bracelet when the party starts at 7pm to ride any rides, watch the parade, shows, etc.

Oh I am so torn about purchasing Tonys for my Christmas Party 12/16! I had talked myself out of it but the reviews seem to be pretty decent. But I definitely fear that by the time 12/16 rolls around it will be too popular and we wont end up of a great view down Main Street. Tough decision!

Think of all the wonderful other things you could get with that money, then compare what you think you'll get from this. That equates to a few, very nice, world class meals/experiences elsewhere.

I’ll be at the 12/16 party and I’m doing Tony’s. I really want that straight down main street view, but I’m really hoping by that late in the season it doesn’t become like the dessert parties, where people rush into the viewing area first thing it opens and camp out the space. Maybe having one person go get a snack or 2 and bring it out. I think that’s a waste of money (the food’s not the greatest, but we’re going to eat and drink our money— and bring some ziploc baggies for sure!) I’m almost certain by mid December it’ll turn into your typical camp out.

Because if that becomes the norm, then what’s the point of spending $99? I’ll eat and relax, pop out and walk up to main street at like 9:55 for the fireworks, then head to the reserved spot around 1030/1045.

I’d do it if you’re okay with the possibility (might not be the case) that you’ll have to sit out there for over an hour before the parade hits that coveted straight down main street spot. I’m okay with being off center if it means I can relax longer. If you decide to go, then I’ll see you there!!

Posting this again in hopes of generating some responses.

Hello fellow DIS-ers;

I am looking to get the Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom Christmas party card (this year it's the Tiki Birds).
Every guest who attends the party is entitled to get one at the Fire Hall.
If you are able to help, please private message me with your address and I will send you a SASE with which to mail the card.

It will cost you nothing and probably take no more than a couple of minutes out of your day. If the envelope gets to you before you attend the party, you can take it with you and drop the card into the Main St. mail box....easy.

I was able to get assistance from some very helpful guests who attended the Halloween party this year with getting the Orange Bird card and I hope I have similar luck here on the Christmas party board.

Many thanks

Michael

I'm glad you're thinking about it and not jumping in. These up-charge parties have their purposes, but I think too many people are being pulled into them without thinking "What do I want out of it." I fear that Disney feels they've gotten about as many people to buy into MVMCP as they can and that has become the norm, the up-charge events will become the new norm now.

If there's a significant value (someone needs a quiet, climate controlled location to rest in, or they really want the beer or wine with some food as an option) I understand buying in. If the photo op from seeing the parade coming directly at you is important I can understand. Keep in mind that the dancers and characters in the parade usually interact with children on the sides of the road. As a kid I loved sitting in front of where the glass store is and having the characters wave at me, or talk to me. Or... the turtle in MSEP would dance for us in that spot (one of many I understand, but it was special).

I need some advice: this is our first visit, and I have two five year olds with limited patience. I keep seeing people say they got a spot 30, 45, 60 minutes before the various events (shows, parades, fireworks). There is no way my boys will want to do that. Is there any point in trying to watch anything without getting a spot early? Would it be terrible if we skipped the entertainment in favor of snacks, rides, and general wandering around? Thank you!
