DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Right boys, got my drinking boots on. Off to Surrey to some of our best mates for Fakesgiving 2018, our annual booze and turkey fest with them. We were in charge of dessert, so we have homemade Cinnamon Buns with Cream cheese frosting, and Banana Cupcakes with Maple syrup buttercream. The Cardiologists are on standby, with the amount of butter, cream and sugar that is about to be ingested.

Thursday we have our next door neighbours in, as one of them is from your neck of the woods. Well, almost Darcy's neck of the woods, he's from Maine.

Norm, good luck in the tennis, hope your knee stands up buddy, and good luck to Declan in his tourney.
Everyone else, crack 'em open if they are cold enough.

London out.

Thanks. Enjoy the food fest. I use puff pastry for my cinnamon rolls for that extra flake. I survived tennis, although am limping around now.

Morning gents.

Froze my toes off last night at our Santa Claus parade. But glad I went.

Puff pastry. Huh! Like a cronut cinnamon bun!

Evening Guys.

The boys went 1 and 1 today. Nice win in the opener and a not so nice loss in the nightcap. Play for 3rd tomorrow afternoon.

Not bad, but obviously not what you hoped. Good luck for 3rd

A long weekend comes to a close with a win and a 3rd place finish. Great game from Declan, probably one of the best all-around games he's played. 22 points and about 37 minutes and player of the game. Nice way to start the season. They have another tournament next weekend but it's going to be a tough one, taking on a pretty good prep school and the top team in NB and one of the best from Nova Scotia. It's all about building to February.

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

Morning boys from a cold and snack free London. Cutting out all the rubbish until Xmas. Should get signed of for running and tennis on Friday, so doing a bit of build up work to make sure.

Good day for sports yesterday, with England winning and the Bears going to 7-3. They lost 2 of those by a whisker as well, so all in all a major improvement. I'm a little bit in love with Akiem Hicks. I may have to revisit my "Linebackers only" rule for jerseys. Looking forward to the Chiefs and the Rams tonight, that could be a warm up for this years Super Bowl.

Well that sounds like fun.

Enjoy the food fest. I use puff pastry for my cinnamon rolls for that extra flake.
We call that a cinnamon swirl over here.

Great game from Declan, probably one of the best all-around games he's played.
Great stuff. He must be walking a little taller today.

Have a good Monday chaps.

Monday.
Hey, since Dan mentioned Fakesgiving, can I take a fake holiday on Thursday too?

Yesterday was cold but sunny, so I took the opportunity to put up (some) of the Christmas light son the house - the harder to put up ones on the eaves and windows. The way this winter has started, I figured I should take advantage of a weekend day with no precipitation. Mind you I have no intention of lighting them before December. They're just up. I still have to run all the power cords, put up fake boughs, snow man, Mickey wreath, etc.

Monday I plan to take a sleeping bag and pillow to the office; this looks like it could be a long winter.
I hope it doesn't get so bad that I have to sleep in the office. But yes, it is shaping up to be a rough winter.

I don't drink milk in my tea, but me thinks that's pretty dog gone windy!
Interesting fact about the wind storm we had here last week. It was so strong the rock was literally shaking, to the point it was measured on seismographs. Crazy.

I've seen worse but this one had a layer of ice under the snow, made for nasty driving.
That makes it worse for usre.
It was bad here too, but got less snow, about 5cm Friday night but then warmed up Saturday morning so it was heavy and sloppy shovelling. I got my driveway done before it froze again Saturday night. Others didn't and it hasn't thawed since. It's like concrete now.

Froze my toes off last night at our Santa Claus parade. But glad I went.
Ours is this weekend. I also enjoy it too. Of course they are calling for another snow storm this weekend, so we'll see if the parade goes ahead. Youngest DD is dancing in the parade, so hopefully the weather holds.

Great performance! Good luck to him for the next tournament.

Good day for sports yesterday,
Well, except for @pkondz 's Blue Bombers. But I guess the CFL is not on most people's radar.

Morning boys. Taking a small break before getting my day started.
Hope ya'll aren't having too bad a Monday. It's an actual Monday for me as it's my first day of my cycle too, today. Although it doesn't start until 2pm. Then again, I worked yesterday, so it doesn't quite feel like it anyways!

I never thought of it like that. It tastes good, and makes it a bit unique.

I bet it does.

Not bad! :)

That's great! Congrats to Declan. Proud papa moment. :)

Cutting out all the rubbish until Xmas. Should get signed of for running and tennis on Friday, so doing a bit of build up work to make sure.

Good luck with that. Seriously.

Well that sounds like fun.

Well.... apart from the hypothermia, it kinda was. ;)

Yesterday was cold but sunny, so I took the opportunity to put up (some) of the Christmas light son the house - the harder to put up ones on the eaves and windows.

Did that a few weeks ago. Got lucky since the next day or so the temps plummeted and haven't come back up.

Mind you I have no intention of lighting them before December. They're just up.

::yes::

Ours is this weekend. I also enjoy it too. Of course they are calling for another snow storm this weekend, so we'll see if the parade goes ahead

Hopefully it will. Would they postpone it or cancel it?

Youngest DD is dancing in the parade, so hopefully the weather holds.

Oh! Yeah, for sure, then!

Well, except for @pkondz 's Blue Bombers. But I guess the CFL is not on most people's radar.

:sad2: They even had the (small) lead there for a while. Man... it's been 28 years... Ridiculous in a league this size.

That is an interesting fact, but way more interesting was VOCM's "Question of the day" last week which asked if you have ever sent some intimate pictures of yourself to someone else. And what the hell is backyard farming? Sounds a little bit "Friday Evening Princess" to me....
I think we should rename Newfoundland "Love Island".

Well, except for @pkondz 's Blue Bombers. But I guess the CFL is not on most people's radar.
I'm guessing the Grey Cup is soon? That's all I got on CFL.

Those pesky Stampeders.......

Now that really is all I got on CFL, and I had to look that up.

 Thanks for the effort.

CFL football is... interesting, compared to NFL.
Bigger field. 3 downs instead of 4 and... Other than the O line, pretty much everyone is in motion before the snap.

Good day all. Another freezing November day up here but the good news is more snow tomorrow.

Yay!

Wait...

Much better sense of humour than the NFL as well. Remember their old ad campaign that used the tag line "Our balls are bigger."?

Enjoy those major improvements while you can. They don't seem to last long these days. :sad2:

If that's the case, I might be sleeping in the office quite a bit!
